What happened in Turkish football today? 03/03/2023



Issues outside of field overshadowed Kayserispor-Fenerbahce game.

Turkish Super League 24th week game between Kayserispor and Fenerbahce has been overshadowed due of decision from Kayseri Municipality Defence Committee do not allow Fenerbahce supporters to its game.

Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc has made an important statements today following decision from Kayseri administrative Court to approve decision from committee to ban Fenerbahce as it has accepted defence from them. However, Ali Koc did state that following action is not being lawfull and is not being eligible with stating what everyone knew that this decision has been made towards anti-government statements during Konyaspor game and has shown signs that it respects this view. It needs to be mentioned that such actions from committee hence provided only extra confidence and motivation to Fenerbahce side as it would be coming out under emotional consquences and this could be go as advantage if it uses rightly.

This game has been risen due of tensions which being created in all fairness at artificial manner and Fenerbahce would show rightfully action during game.

Trabzonspor would aim to continue its strong run at home ground.

Trabzonspor would be aiming to continue its strong home run against struggling Umraniyespor as Trabzonspor are being out of title race and low morale.

Trabzonspor are showing very dissapointing performance especially when being defending title winners but as it is known it is showing good performance at home ground and it would be aiming to do so again as it also has opened new chapter as Abdullah Agaoglu in unexpected manner has announced his resignation. Stating that it wont be an easy game at all for Trabzonspor as Umraniyespor does have an issue with winning game but in all fairness is showing strong fighting performance on the field.

Trabzonspor due of some factors is coming out as favourites but it could be having some decline on motivation due of being far from title race.

Ahmet Agaoglu resigns as Trabzonspor CEO.

Staying at Trabzonspor, club CEO Ahmet Agaoglu in surprising manner has announced his resignation from his post stating that there were some misunderstandings among administrators.

Trabzonspor as been noted above are having unsuccessful season but despite of that Ahmet Agaoglu resignation could be seen as surprise as he was respected and did achieve important achievements in his reign especially winning Super League last season. According to reports, reason has been due of misunderstanding but its not known which are exactly. It would now be interesting to see how things would develop in the club as it would be having election on 18-19th March.

Trabzonspor did have unsuccessful season but as been noted Agaoglu leaving his spot could be seen as unexpected development by everyone following Turkish football.
