What happened in Turkish football today? 23/03/2023

Tolunay Kafkas has been appointed as Ankaragucu head coach for 1.5 years.

Ankaragucu has appointed coach Tolunay Kafkas for 1.5 years as Kafkas has very good experience in such position with different Super League clubs and also came after successful period with Turkish National Team youth side.

Without doubt, Kafkas would be joining side which are currently aiming to staying at the league as it does pretty difficult season mostly not providing performance which is not on level on this league even through it is understandable as it is being in difficult financial situation and did have transfer bans. Tolunay Kafkas is being among names which did get some experience as coach in such position in recent seasons and did show some very good performance. Therefore, it would be difficult task for Tolunay Kafkas without doubt but he has experience to get through them.

What is important here is to show some patience and this should be done with Ankaragucu as Kafkas is being 3rd coach during this season at the club.

Galatasaray doesnt want Hakan Ceylan to be VAR referee for their games.

It is reported that Galatasaray has send request towards TFF for not appointing as Hakan Ceylan stating that he is not being justiful to the team with decision on previous games which club has been played.

Galatasaray is referring to 2nd week Giresunspor and also last game week against Konyaspor stating that there were some questionable actions by coach such as not calling and not changing decisions which were given by main referee. Club also states that at similar decisions at different games and teams, different decisions are made at same positions. Club hence states that Hakan Ceylan is not providing fair and trustful decisions at games which they are playing at. It would be interesting to see what decision would TFF but it needs to strong stance or it would use its power for rest of the season.

Right thing would be not go through request of TFF but have serious talk with Hakan Ceylan to find if allegations are being legitimate or not.

Besiktas will go to FIFA regarding of points from teams which would not complete season.

Discussion about what to do with points of Hatayspor and Gaziantep who has left season due of devastating earthquake, carries on heated matter as Besiktas prepares to send case to FIFA.

As it is known Besiktas did lose 5 points against those teams while either Galatasaray or Fenerbahce didnt play yet against them during 2nd half of the season and did get wins when met at 1st half. Such issue here does question which decision would be best right one.It needs to be mentioned that this situation with Gaziantep and Hatayspor is being different and unique one due of factor that its not competing at tournament out of their own mistake and due of external actions so there are not banned from tournament, and hence logic here is that it should bonuses of achievements which happened at TFF and to some extend is being different from UEFA statement that points needs to be nullified.

There are cases that due of natural disasters points of whole season being nullified of clubs to be affected but it would be interesting to see how FIFA would respond still.
