Quality differences has been factor at game against Armenia and Croatia.

Turkish National Team outcomes during first 2 games at the Euro 2024 qualifying stages has been decided more or less due of quality of sides, as Turkey won game where it didnt provide very good performance and while losing one which it has been more willing and attacking.

Turkey didnt provide very good performance against Armenia and has been got win due of being much more side as it shown comeback from 1:0 to 2:1 and also some good concentration and reaction while at the game against Croatia its been much better side with providing strong attacking game especially during 20 minutes but experience at top level and generally being better side has led for Croatia to get an important win. It needs to be mentioned that without doubt for rest of the campaign Turkey would need to take reference Croatia and recognise why it didnt manage to get better side against bronze winners of World Cup.

With both sides going to Euro from group does show that this outcome might not be too mich disaster but as been noted good result from home especially after win would been better result.

UEFA announced fines and bans to Turkish clubs.

UEFA has announced fines and bans of the Turkish teams during recent games at the European competition which has been mainly dominated from supporters behaviour.

It needs to be mentioned that compare for instance PFDK, UEFA disciplinary committee is being much more tolerated and fines and bans has been rarely given to Turkish clubs. However, without doubt some behaviour from Fenerbahce and Sivasspor during last games at Europa League and Conference League respectfully has led for UEFA to provide harsh decisions with providing fan ban to Fenerbahce and 44,000 euro fine and also ban towards Sivasspor for next game. In addition, Sivasspor player Hakan Arslan has recieved 3-game ban for foul during game. Also, Trabzonspor did recieve 20,000 euo fine.

This incidents which did happen has provided once again some negative view of Turkish supporters with UEFA providing right action.

Everyone defends own interests regarding point factor of teams which didnt complete league.

Discussion about decision regarding if games which would not be played by Hatayspor and Gaziantep should be not counted after devastating earthquake or not is carrying on as 7 clubs want for whole season while 4 are against it.

It needs to be mentioned that clubs which want for this decision are the ones which are been mainly affected as extra 6 points would mean to them that they would get closer to league title race and also at relegation zone. Hence, the factor which has been arised due of tragic events turns out at football world with self-interest once again. Since there is no majority meanwhile among Clubs Union, it is likely for TFF to keep this decision same as it tends to do before with similar factors. Meanwhile, statement from Besiktas that when UEFA decisions are being ignored or not, could go to them to be frank.

With clubs talking about fairness in this week, it needs to be mentioned that it is more to become into more winnable decision. Due of better continuity and reduction of crises, we are arguing that it is better to carry on league with same decision.

Croatia reminded Turkey that its not in same level as them.

Quality factor between Turkey and Croatia has become visible during Euro 2024 qualifier game as it needs to be stated that Turkey has been given much effort to get win especially during 1st 20 minutes but Croatia has been used its chances.

Even through fast tempo and high number of the chances from Turkey during 1st 20 minutes needs to be praised, providing such fast tempo and performance in start of the game would have affected negatively to team in upcoming minutes. It is true such action would been working when if it found an early goal. It needs to be mentioned that Croatia didnt provide necessarily very good performance which it suitable for 3rd place World Cup side, but organisational and patient game has become key among using its experienced touches especially from Luka Modric. This game has reminded to all once again that in quality wise Turkey are being behind of Croatia with many reasons could be stated of this.

Turkey players did play to get win and could not be criticised with an effort but it did lack last touches and did make some simple mistakes at defence.

Saudi Arabic National Team interested to appoint Jorge Jesus.

With Saudi Arabia head coach Herve Renard ending deal with national side earlier on this day, Saudi Arabic media has stated that Fenerbahce head coach Jorge Jesus could be one of the candidates as new coach.

With Jorge Jesus stating that he would make final decision regarding his future in the end of the season as he tends to do, is actually being good thing in sense of concentration of set aim and hence reducing any distractions, it does raise some uncertainty at the team without doubt. Saudi Arabia might not be highly anticipated team when it comes to good results, but it needs to be remembered that Saudis does have potentiality to provide some good offer financially and hence this could affect and provide pressure to Jorge Jesus in the end of the season.

It is known that Jesus is being happy at the team but that doesnt provide much secure point that he would leave in the end of the season.

AC Milan interested to sign Sacha Boey

It is reported that AC Milan has been joining sides which are showing some interests to sign Galatasaray player Sacha Boey who has very good season at Istanbul giants.

With Galatasaray being at 1st spot at the league and generally showing good performance in this season, it is quite naturally for lots of top European clubs showing interest to key players and one of them being Sacha Boey. With reports that Arsenal are interested with player, AC Milan has joined into clubs which might be interest to get player. With being 22-year old and showing good performance and signs of improvement it could be seen normal for such interest from Italian side.

Therefore, there might be strong interest towards Boey in this summer transfer window and our pages would follow latest developments in this matter.

Croatia used its opportunity as Turkey didnt use its great chances

Turkish National Team has lost to Croatia during Euro 2024 qualifier 2nd week with 2:0 scoreline as Turkey has been side which did been creating numerous great sides but due of mistakes at defence Turkey has lost into game.

Turkey did make strong message towards Croatia and also all viewers of the game that it did come out for a win and wanted to get 2 out of 2 in this opening games at qualifying stages as it did created very good chances but couldnt pass Livakovic who once again reminded why he is being one of the best goalkeepers at the World Cup 2022. Even through Turkey did show pretty confident performance at midfield and especially at attack, same couldnt state for defensive game as during both sides which been scored by them did come from defensive mistakes especially during 1st goal. With main mistake has been from Ferdi Kadioglu who has allowed an opponent to overpass him and get to penalty zone without too pressure but it needs to be mentioned that overall defensive positioning has been poor. Turkey did try to find at least one goal during 2nd half and did provide some good performance but it did manage to make that final shot which would beat Livakovic.

Croatia despite of the win and also without doubt good fighting spirit,it didnt provide very good performance and been far from its usual performance with making too many passing mistakes and generally not getting control of the ball but it did use its opportunities with finding 2 goals due of lack of concentration of Croatia.

Turkey hence did lose this game and has dropped to 3rd spot as Wales managed to win Latvia and even through it was expected to lose Croatia on paper but it did lose an opportunity of extra point in campaign at home ground.

Inter Milan considers to extend contract with Hakan Calhanoglu until 2027.

Inter Milan has decided to extend contract with its player Hakan Calhanoglu until 2027 as contract going to end in the end of the season and player is showing good performance in the team this season.

It needs to be mentioned that Hakan Calhanoglu is possibly spending his season since joining Inter Milan which has been especially seen during recent Champions League so it could be treated pretty expected that Italian side would like to extend contract with him. It also known that Calhanoglu is also feeling comfortable at the club and hence would be looking positive with this extension offer.

Therefore, it could be mentioned that chances for Calhanoglu to stay in the club are being very high as we would follow developments in our accounts.

Real Madrid are interested to sign Arda Guler,

European giants Real Madrid has joined into list of being sides to be showing interest towards Fenerbahce player Arda Guler as there is strong following from club towards player as club considers to start negotiatians during summer transfer window.

There is strong interest towards Fenerbahce wunderkid Arda Guler as many top of the club are considering to sign player this summer and Real Madrid which does look into alternatives of its midfielding field and also young age of Guler would show some strong interest towards player. Without doubt, such interest shows quality of player as it he would be expected to be high spot during next season.

It does look Arda Guler would be among most-discussed Turkish player in worldwide football community and there are great reasons for him to be so without doubt.

Turkey need to show much more better game compare to Armenia game.

Turkey are going to carry on its Euro 2024 qualifier against one of its main rivaries for top 2 spot and 3rd -placed World Cup side Croatia at the game where it would need to provide much more effective performance compare to Armenia game.

As been noted on previous posts, only positive aspects from Armenia game could be for getting winning start of this competition as it is being very crucial and also ending 1st week at the top spot with point advantage but it needs to carry on providing good performance. Turkey does have an advantage of playing at home with strong support from its own fans, which they tend to do all the time during national games especially when playing outside of Istanbul. Both sides are also very familiar with each other as they tend to play against each other for long time. Most important aspect for Turkey is to focus into providing strong and more aggressive game against Croatia and show balanced game both in defence and attack.

Croatia are coming out as favourites but motivation from 1st win, playing at home and confidence in the big game could provide some bonuses to Turkey during 90 minutes.

3 games per 5 games has been lifted for referees by TFF

Central Referee Committee has announced that rule of appointing 1 referee to 3 games out of back-to-back at 5 games as we entering to crucial weeks in the season.

It needs to be mentioned that this decision does show that TFF are lacking in its disposal high quality referees as numerically it has enough referees to go through this guideline but since many referees are not able to provide top level performance more referees which are been accepted as top ones would get games from now on until end of the season. Still, it would be important for Committee to pay attention mentally and physically to referees and not provide too much pressure and games towards them.

This could provide good outcome if it managed rightly but sadly there are times when such managements are not done as needed.

Kasimpasa makes deal with Kemal Ozdes

Kasimpasa has made deal to appoint Kemal Ozdes for another time as coach has been training Istanbul side for 2 times in previous times with getting some mixing results during that period.

Kemal Ozdes despite of having some mixing performances at Kasimpasa, does have strong advantage as he is aware of aims and potentiality of the team and hence would not have much issues at sorting issues which club is going through right now. To some extend, with coming towards end of the season Kasimpasa decided to play safe and in such critical moment for them this might be right decision as long as Ozdes would be able to provide some good results.

Hence, with availability and familiarity with club Kemal Ozdes has reasons to show some successful performance in this reign at club.

Turkey started campaign with a win against Armenia.

Turkish National Team has got an important win at away game against Armenia with 2:1 scoreline and with Croatia and Wales drawing on their own game has been leaders at the group but it needs to be mentioned that in performance wise there were higher expectation.

It needs to be mentioned that despite of Armenian fans booeing Turkish national anthem before kick-off, game has been going through into calm and not much tension as performance from both sides players did look to be professional. Stating that, Armenia players did show that they wanted to get win in this game more in duration of first 30 minutes as it created much more chances and with pressure has forced Ozan Kabak to score an own goal. After Turkey did score an equaliser with great shot from Ozan Kabak, Turkey did provide much more organised performance and did find winning goal thanks to the Kerem Akturkoglu but last minute of the game did provide some worries.

Turkey did manage to get win at 1st game in the qualifying campaign which is always important regardless who is opponent but needs to provide much more performance when playing against Croatia on 28th March.

Ertugrul Dogan is being elected as Trabzonspor new CEO

Ertugrul Dogan has been elected as Trabzonspor CEO during today's club's election where he did run as single candidate and right now as been mentioned in our blog for past 2 days would need to focus into economical aspects.

As to all clubs in Turkey and to some extend around world, economical issues tends to be most important aspect and without doubt main aim is to reduce salaries of the players. Hence, since Trabzonspor are focussing to reduce into double, main solution would be to sell its foreign players which take lion share of this salaries and focus into academy players. Rest of the season, as club chances for title race are being far is to focus into current players with new coach with figuring it out who needs to be sold in summer and possibly start including academy players into main squad to make them used for next season.

It is an advantage for Ertugrul Dogan to be from previous administration as he would know directly issues and solutions for factors he would meet.

Turkish National Team acted too precautiously regarding Bardakci headache.

An issue of Galatasaray player Abdulkerim Bardakci regarding him being taking away from Turkish National Team has been found that team has decided to take him from squad as Bardakci wanted to stay.

Bardakci headache at training camp has been taken for 3-days and quite possibly with some checking Turkish National Team has taken precaution issue as Galatasaray also has done similar actions when he joined team but when it found out that his condition is not being serious at all he has joined team back. Looking for bad will and Turkey showing some action is that national team has taken some precaution action and likely just analysed condition wrongly.

Abdulkerim Bardakci is having very good season and very likely would be selected at national team when it would meet again in June.

In other news:

- UEFA has appointed Andreas Ekberg as referee for Euro 2024 qualifier between Turkey and Croatia.

- Umraniyespor has won friendly game against Besiktas with 2:0 scoreline.

Turkey got satisfied result with unsatisfied performance

Turkish National Team has started its Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with an away win against Armenia with 2:1 scoreline at the game where it has struggled during 1st 30 minutes of the game but afterwards has got more control of the game and got 2nd goal during 2nd half.

It is hard to note that Turkey did provide performance which has been expected from side were not met especially at the start of the game as it has allowed Armenia to get control of the game as it had possession and has provided performance at the Turkey goal with looking for goals. In fact, even if it was an own goal from Ozan Kabak, it needs to be mentioned that goal did come from Armenian pressure. It needs to be stated that goal which did come from Orkun Kokcu even through didnt affect into tempo of the game but did affect into morale of Armenia as it started showing much more defensive and slow tempo game possibly focussing into draw. In fact, Turkey did come with very effective counter-attack with goal of Kerem Akturkoglu at the style which goals which he tends to do successfully. Turkey did get an important win without doubt as its been crucial to start such campaign with a win but it needs to be stated that Turkey didnt provide very good performance and did look passive.

It needs to be stated that Armenia did have better performance during 30 minutes as it did found first goal possibly due of political rivarly which countries are having. Armenia doesnt look side which would fight for top 2 spots in such group, but could possibly provide some issues to other opponents.

Turkey did get good start of the campaign with winning against also its historical opponent Armenia but one thing is certain it needs to improve and show much more against Croatia if it wants even a point.

Trabzonspor new CEO main focus is to reduce spendings of the club

Trabzonspor are getting ready for CEO election with one candidate of Erdogan Dogan who would focussing into solving financial issues at the club which has been for long time main priority in the club.

It needs to be mentioned that during previous 2 seasons, Trabzonspor did come out both to get title which it has achieved previous season and also have very good European journey and continuation of success, which didnt go as planned. Since Trabzonspor is very likely to end this season outside of European spots, it would need to seek for reducing its players salary totally amount more or less into double and focus more into working into academy and if this plan would be going in good manner it would be able to create both competitive side and future stars of Turkish football in few years. In addition, financial situation is been clear as 11 players are reported to open case agaisnt club as it didnt pay salaries to them.

Hence, main focus of Ertugrul Dogan which would be elected as new CEO would need to focus mainly into reducing payments at the club.

Fenerbahce are interested to transfer Ji Sung Eom

It does look one of the main focusses of Fenerbahce during summer transfer window to sign 20-year old Ji Sung Eom from South Korean club Gwangji.

With getting some good reaction from previous South Korean players at Fenerbahce who are also being young, it does look like Fenerbahce would be focussing into potential and upcoming players from that country which without doubt is being good investment as football in that country is developing and able to create future upcoming quality players. It also reported that Kim Min-Jae is also providing good reference to Sung Eom and hence would also raise willingness for player for wanting to join them. This transfer would be hence good investment for the future.

Hence, if Fenerbahce manages to make a deal in summer with player it would be good transfer for both club and also player as it would give him chance to develop into stronger player.

Turkish National Team would need to focus into field at game against Armenia.

Turkish National Team are going to start its campaign for Euro 2024 ticket which would be taking place in Germany against its historically and politically significant opponent against Armenia but its important to focus at game as football meeting between two sides.

When looking at level of quality differences between sides and even through Armenia did show some improvement in recent years at football level and have some potential players, Turkey still would be coming as strong favourite at the game. As it is known, both countries historically did have some heated arguments between each other and without doubt media would be focussing into that but its important here for players to focus at the game and go over through emotional aspect. In this area, it could be stated that Turkey is having an advantage of having German coach who would be able to provide needed concentration and focus to the team. Coming to the game, Turkey are coming out as favourite and it would be important for Turkey to get win and get confidence prior to game against World Cup bronze winners Croatia.

In such tournament two initial aspects is to have good start to the campaign and also get wins against such opponent and Turkey has all aspects to achieve those aims.

Dogan would need to focus to improve Trabzonspor academy.

Trabzonspor would be going into CEO election with single candidate Ertugrul Dogan who has set main priority if he wins at election to focus into economically aspects of the club.

One of the serious issues which Trabzonspor are having right now are being financial aspects with high salaries of the players and also generally spending and hence it would be needed to be aiming to reduce from total amount of salaries 38 million euro to just above 20 million euro which would mean to focus especially at academy of the club. It needs to be mentioned that historically Trabzonspor has been able to have some good players at academy which did develop into strong players and this would be main priority for Ertugrul Dogan.

If Dogan would be able to run academy effectively and provide transfermation to senior team he would be able to create pretty strong competitive team in short period for sure.

Konyaspor will complain its 612,000 TL fine to arbatration committee

Konyaspor has announced that it would be going to arbitration committee for recieving 612,000 TL fines from Galatasaray game following Super League game against Galatasaray.

As remembered, game between two sides at the last Super League week regarding with behaviour of fans, statements regarding referees and also atittude of players lead for game to be very heated. Due of those events, Konyaspor did recieve pretty high fine of 612,000 TL which it has found to be pretty unfairly towards them and hence has made decision to send complaint to TFF Arbitration Committee.

It needs to be stated that most of fines were on place and it doesnt look like committee would accept but there is hope that it would reduce total amount in some areas.

Tolunay Kafkas has been appointed as Ankaragucu head coach for 1.5 years.

Ankaragucu has appointed coach Tolunay Kafkas for 1.5 years as Kafkas has very good experience in such position with different Super League clubs and also came after successful period with Turkish National Team youth side.

Without doubt, Kafkas would be joining side which are currently aiming to staying at the league as it does pretty difficult season mostly not providing performance which is not on level on this league even through it is understandable as it is being in difficult financial situation and did have transfer bans. Tolunay Kafkas is being among names which did get some experience as coach in such position in recent seasons and did show some very good performance. Therefore, it would be difficult task for Tolunay Kafkas without doubt but he has experience to get through them.

What is important here is to show some patience and this should be done with Ankaragucu as Kafkas is being 3rd coach during this season at the club.

Galatasaray doesnt want Hakan Ceylan to be VAR referee for their games.

It is reported that Galatasaray has send request towards TFF for not appointing as Hakan Ceylan stating that he is not being justiful to the team with decision on previous games which club has been played.

Galatasaray is referring to 2nd week Giresunspor and also last game week against Konyaspor stating that there were some questionable actions by coach such as not calling and not changing decisions which were given by main referee. Club also states that at similar decisions at different games and teams, different decisions are made at same positions. Club hence states that Hakan Ceylan is not providing fair and trustful decisions at games which they are playing at. It would be interesting to see what decision would TFF but it needs to strong stance or it would use its power for rest of the season.

Right thing would be not go through request of TFF but have serious talk with Hakan Ceylan to find if allegations are being legitimate or not.

Besiktas will go to FIFA regarding of points from teams which would not complete season.

Discussion about what to do with points of Hatayspor and Gaziantep who has left season due of devastating earthquake, carries on heated matter as Besiktas prepares to send case to FIFA.

As it is known Besiktas did lose 5 points against those teams while either Galatasaray or Fenerbahce didnt play yet against them during 2nd half of the season and did get wins when met at 1st half. Such issue here does question which decision would be best right one.It needs to be mentioned that this situation with Gaziantep and Hatayspor is being different and unique one due of factor that its not competing at tournament out of their own mistake and due of external actions so there are not banned from tournament, and hence logic here is that it should bonuses of achievements which happened at TFF and to some extend is being different from UEFA statement that points needs to be nullified.

There are cases that due of natural disasters points of whole season being nullified of clubs to be affected but it would be interesting to see how FIFA would respond still.

TFF made final statement regarding about relegation and promotion of the clubs at the Super League in the end of the season stating that 2 clubs would be relegated and 4 teams would promoted making total number of clubs in next season as 20.

As it is known, devastating earthquake which has affected both Hatayspor and Gaziantep had also affected Turkish football season as both clubs in understandable manner has requested not to complete season. Since clubs would not be playing for rest of the season, it has been decided to make their spot secured for upcoming season. Without changing guidelines of number of sides being promoted on lower leagues, it has been decided that 20 clubs would be taking place in upcoming place. This statement has been made following statement from Umraniyespor CEO that clubs are considering to lift relegation in this season.

This statement what has been known for around a month but to end rumours and speculations on this topic.

Besiktas provides revolutionary demands for this season.

Besiktas has made straight-forward and pretty strong and to some extend aggressive statement regarding of issues which are taking place right now at the Turkish football.

At its statement it has been focussed both into heated arguments which is taking place between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray regarding referee performances and also points from Gaziantep and Hatayspor which would not complete this season. Even through Besiktas does rightfully argue that both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, two main contenders for title, do make statements to make their position much strong and easier it needs to be mentioned that regarding not counting all points of Gaziantep and Hatayspor is focussed into self interest, as it did lose points to this sides and adding points from this games would make them strong title contenders also. Besiktas also asks for VAR recording to be announced for all games during this season, request which most likely would be ignored by TFF.

Besiktas did ask for revolutionary demands which does show, to some extend rightfully, regarding how this season would be run but TFF accepting them would provide serious issues in near future.

Mesut Ozil has ended footballing career.

One of the best players in recent history, Turkish-originated German player Mesut Ozil has ended his footballing career while being at Basaksehirspor with great achievements in the past.

Even through Mesut Ozil did come to Fenerbahce and later movement to Basaksehirspor wasnt very memorable and successful as he did fight with recent injuries, as it would be reminded strong willingness of Arsenal to sell him, he does have great historical success both for German National Team and at Real Madrid. In fact, he made great partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid years and has played a big role for lots of titles in the team. Despite of choosing of playing for Germany, he never also forgotten his Turkish roots and been strong defender of Turkish and Turkic words matters for years.

Hence, Mesut Ozil last years were not very successful but he did make a huge mark to footballing world without doubt.

With unsurprisingly lots of interests towards him for transfer, Fenerbahce at least got a chance to get good value of him if one of the clubs would be able to make transfer deal with him and club.

Altay Bayindir without doubt would play an important role in the club and has strong potential to develop into much better goalkeeper without doubt.

Fenerbahce got crucial 3 points even if it didnt show great game

Fenerbahce has got an important win against Alanyaspor with 3:1 scoreline at the week which Galatasaray did lose 3 points and hence has reduced point difference prior to national team break to 6 points with game in hand.

Even through Fenerbahce did get without doubt a very important win against Alanyaspor, it didnt provide very good performance especially during 1st half as game has been played at low tempo, stoppages and uncreativity by both sides. It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce did come out without doubt for win and Alanyaspor did provide strong defensive game with anti-football touches at the field but Fenerbahce needed to find more chances. To some extend starting 11 has also affected as Jorge Jesus has made an important rotation but it didnt turn around as positive as they were not players who had creativity to transform game against such defence. With introduction of Emre Mor, Miha Zajc and Joshua King did provide much more stronger game with providing much pressure. Its true that Fenerbahce did get ahead thanks to Enner Valencia penalties but those chances happened with Fenerbahce providing much more pressure.

Coming to Alanyaspor, it has provided very anti-football game on its field and even through it does prevent opponent to have high amount of chances, a factor that it is incapable to provide its own game means it would struggle when going behind, area which it needs to be focus at national team break.

Fenerbahce hence is being 6 points behind Galatasaray with game in hand which means that Fenerbahce had raised its chances at title race significantly.

Besiktas got win due of great 3 goals.

Besiktas continues its winning run at league to 3 games after beating Istanbulspor with 3:1 socreline and has reduced point difference with league leaders to Galatasaray to 11 points as opponent last earlier this week.

It needs to be mentioned that despite of confident result to some extend, Besiktas didnt provide full dominance of the game and didnt provide too much pressure to an opponent which is currently is showing confident performance which did also affect to its mentality of the game. In fact, Besiktas didnt create high number of the chances with finding 3 goals due of quality factor as it needs to be mentioned that all 3 goals did come with individual effort. This could be seen without doubt as positive factor to some extend as it does show that it could find goals at times when game-wise thinks are not going well but this without doubt would not always bring needed wins.

Besiktas did get confidence and motivation prior international team break as it needs to focus into how to perform performance at the field among getting wins.

Jorge Jesus controversial statement is not actually new in Turkish football community

Fenerbahce head coach Jorge Jesus following Europa League game against Sevilla has made a statement that in this country games are not being won at the field but outside of field which actively discussed at Turkish football for long time.

Even through location where this statement and timing could be questioned as it is unclear why he made this statement after Europa League, statement itself is a factor which been highly discussed by Turkish football community. There has been discussion about match-fixing and referee factors for long time before match-fixing scandal with some CEOs admitting doing it back in 80s and early 90s. So, even through it did raise tension and without doubt arguments, possibly with ending friendship air between clubs set after earthquake, there is truth in this statements and it does look like Jorge Jesus did find out that he would need to compete with outside field factors also.

Jorge Jesus did state what been highly discussed at Turkish football and even through it did take some time for him to be aware.

Besiktas has won 3rd game back-to-back against Istanbulspor.

Besiktas has managed to get an important win against Istanbulspor with 3:1 scoreline and hence has won 3 games back-to-back but it didnt provide full dominance of the game and has played pretty low tempo performance.

During previous weeks, Besiktas has failed to provide high tempo performance and getting lots of chances during 90 minutes regardless if it did win or not and this has been case in this game. It needs to be mentioned that key factor of this game which led for 3:1 win has been for individual factors as all 3 goals has been very good and has shown high quality of the game but it needs to be mentioned for instance that Vincent Aboubakar has only scored with only 1 shot into the goal. Still and also with Galatasaray losing point in previous week it could be noted it has been crucial win with Besiktas reducing point difference to 11 points and provided some chances for title race.

Istanbulspor did come to the game at high confidence and motivation as it shown very good performance in recent weeks but quality factor between sides did play crucial role and Istanbulspor still could keep its motivation for upcoming games.

Besiktas did enter without doubt to international team break and high note and during this period should focus into transforming this win into also providing good performance.

Galatasaray has lost 3 points against Konyaspor

Galatasaray did lose a game against Konyaspor which also meant that Istanbul giant has lost its 1st game after 14 games while Konyaspor has won its first game after 9 games, with home side wanting game much more.

There was high expectations with many people that Galatasaray did come out to the game as being strong favourite but it needs to be mentioned that it did game too lightly and did provide not very effective goal and did just use one opportunity with getting ahead. When coming into generally it is hard to state that Konyaspor did provide very good performance but it did look with strategically game during 1st half and after 2nd half with finding possibility of turning game into its own favourite has used counter-attack pretty in effective manner. It needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray despite of winning against Kasimpasa previous week, it has been on decline and this break would provide chance to sort this decline at national team break.

Therefore, Galatasaray has been on decline right now and hence this chance would be able to sort out this issue during this break if it wants to keep advantage at title race.

Fenerbahce will be extra motivated after Galatasaray loss earlier this week

Fenerbahce which was coming out towards Alanyaspor during Super League game, has been even more important with Galatasaray losing 3 points and has allowed side to reduce point difference to 6 points with game in hand.

It needs to be mentioned that physically and mentally Fenerbahce did have with Sevilla at Europa League with providing confident performance but didnt manage to get to quarter-final and hence this could have some impact to Alanyaspor but Fenerbahce would need to be aware that this are being two different competitions and with Galatasaray losing game on 17th March without doubt would provide some confidence. Hence, it would be expected for Fenerbahce to provide strong and confident attacking game for 90 minutes and hence it would be coming out as favourite side. Alanyaspor tends to show good performance again top clubs but it needs to be stated that its not getting very good results in recent weeks.

Fenerbahce hence would be coming out with great opportunity to reduce point difference with Galatasaray at the top which would provide strong confidence and motivation for the team as it would turn positively into field for sure.

What happened in Turkish football today? 17/03/2023

Konyaspor both ended winning streak of opponent and losing streak of themselves.

Konyaspor has ended its losing streak of 9 games as it has managed to beat Galatasaray at home ground with 2:1 scoreline as opponent didnt lose for 14 games as Konyaspor did provide strong concentration and effort while opponents were far away from they usual performance.

Regardless which team you are and where you from, winning streak tend to be ending one day and hence it was expected that one day Galatasaray would end its record-breaking winning streak but it needs to be mentioned that it did come from unexpected opponent, to all respect to Konyaspor. Stating that, there was signs that Galatasaray did lose its level of performance during previous week of Kasimpasa and with meeting this time which did use factor of Galatasaray not being on case let them to lose game. Galatasaray did look to be better side and has been side to create chance but its hard to state that it did dominate game. With such performance, it did actually continue similar game during 2nd half but with Konyaspor raising tempo and looking for chances let for Galatasaray to lose control of the game and despite of also creating very important chances, game has been played in scenario which Konyaspor aimed for.

Konyaspor did come to this game at very poor performance in recent performance and also Aleksandr Stanojevic not being able to win game at his new club did lead him to pressure but also could be turning into advantage which he used with motivation right to players. This win could be crucial turning point for them for rest of the season.

Galatasaray did come out as favourite due of form of both sides, but in the end of the day side which needed and wanted more did get well-deserved result.

Fenerbahce supporters possibly prevented its own side to win tie.

Fenerbahce has been pretty close to bring Europa League game against Sevilla at least to the extra time, but anti-football performance and also help from unexpected source has prevented them to reach to that stage.

It needs to be mentioned that when coming into performance level and also tactically Fenerbahce did everything right to get through to the next stage and to some extend some last touches and unluck has affected to this outcome. Even through our blog did state that Fenerbahce would need to find an early goal, there were reports that Jorge Jesus would be planning to play controllable game in start of the game and afterwards start looking for goals as Sevilla tends to lose tempo towards end of the game. Apart of Michy Batshuayi chance, this has been more or less case. Things in fact did go well as it did found penalty goal in end of the 1st half and has provided good performance in 2nd half. However, Fenerbahce supporters throwing unwanted items to the field with one of them hitting to Sevilla goalkeeper did come in the moment when Fenerbahce raised its tempo and force and hence possibly prevented side to find key goal.

Fenerbahce did everything during this game but 2nd half during 1st tie has been decider in the tie as was feared after 1st leg too.

Sivasspor lost concentration during 2nd half.

Sivasspor and Fiorentina game has also sadly been dominated by behaviour of "supporters", this time it being more tragic as person entering into field has broken nose of Alessandro Bianco led to break nose.

Coming to the game, it needs to be mentioned that Sivasspor has started game in much better way as would been expected by them as it did aim to find goal which would equalise tie and did create numerous chances until finding great goal from distance by Erdogan Yesilyurt. However, goal from Fiorentina in the end of the half has affected concentration and focus of the team as it is known mediocre sides tend to be affected easily affected when conceding goals from stronger side. As Fiorentina continued to score, Sivasspor has both mentally and physically completed game and this led to loss of 4:1 scoreline and 5:1 at aggregate.

Sivasspor did provide good performance when looking into tournament in overall completing it at the top at the group stage and hence should be proud of its performance at overall.

Fenerbahce been much better side but didnt find that needed goal.

Fenerbahce has been relegated from Conference League despite of winning Sevilla at home ground with 1:0 scoreline as it has provided strong and attacking game but couldnt find a 2nd goal during 2nd half and has been relegated with 2:1 aggregate scoreline.

It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce has provided very good performance with showing controllable game during 1st half and has scored with Enner Valencia penalty and during 2nd half has been focussed into providing pressure towards Sevilla with creating high number of the chances. It did have managed to get high number of opportunities and has provided lots of worries to opponent defenders. In fact, Sevilla did fail to show its attacking game for 90 minutes and apart of some few chances didnt provide much issues to the Altay Bayindir. However, it needs to be mentioned that supporter of Fenerbahce who has thrown lighter into field which went into Sevilla goalkeeper and let for game to be stopped for 7 minutes has played probably main reason for this outcome as it slowed down Fenerbahce at the moments when game went into they hand.

It needs to be mentioned that apart of few moments of the Sivasspor didnt provide much pressure towards Fenerbahce goal and has tried to show some defensive game which it has managed to do in some parts but also its been lucky to some extend as Fenerbahce did look better on field.

Fenerbahce did everything to get through and needs to be praised for its effort and belief which it has shown until last minute of the game but it didnt find that key goal which would bring side to extra-time.

Sivasspor did lose belief as it conceded goal during 2nd half.

Sivasspor wasnt able to provide enough pressure and attacking game against Fiorentina during 2nd leg of Conference League last 16 stage game as it lost game with 4:1 scoreline and on overall aggregate been relegated with 5:1 scoreline.

Sivasspor did start game in pretty positive manner with providing good organising game and did go forward on some occassions and has found leading goal and in same an equaliser when coming to the aggregate with great goal from Erdogan Yesilyurt which did come which is being both well-organised and skillful goal. Unfortunately, that goal has been waking up call for FIorentina as it started providing much more pressure and start getting into chances and has scored an equaliser right in the end of the 1st half. This conceded goal without doubt did have negative impact on Sivasspor as it provided pretty poor game during 2nd half with conceding 3 more goals. With Fiorentina providing much more attacking game and scoring goals, more discouraged became Sivasspor which led them to lose in such manner.

Fiorentina possibly didnt start in great manner and did struggle until end of the 1st half but with finding an equaliser right in the end of the half has led them to provide much more pressure on Sivasspor and hence get confident result on the game and go to quarter-final with high confidence.

Sivasspor needs to be praised for its performance during 1st half but as soon as it did look they are losing this tie as Fiorentina used its opportunities side did lose self-belief which led to this outcome.

Basaksehirspor lacked fighting spirit against Gent

Basaksehirspor did lack concentration and also decline of performance level during Conference League game against Gent as it has conceded 3 goals from Gift Orban and failed to show any reaction.

With Basaksehirspor coming out to the game as favourites, it didnt look to be one as it looked to be very passive and inactive both prior to the 1st conceding goal and also following game when it has developed into 4:0. It needs to be mentioned that Basaksehirspor did show very good performance during group stage of the Conference League and did gain an important points to country, but it was showing some decline in all tournaments in this recent games and this has been reflected to this game against Gent. With Basaksehirspor being side which did gain league title and became regular at European competitions such unwillingness and not being able to provide fighting spirit regardless scoreline didnt suit team without doubt.

Basaksehirspor would now need to forget this game and be focussed and motivated once again for league aim of top 4 spots and also Turkish Cup for sure.

Basaksehirspor has shown passive performance against Gent in duration of 6 minutes.

Basaksehirspor has been relegated from Europa League against Gent with 5:2 aggregate scoreline as it has conceded goals between 31-37th minute with Orban scoring hat-trick in duration of 4 minutes.

With result from 1st leg in Belgium which has ended with 1:1 scoreline and also knowing potentiality which Basaksehirspor has against Gent, it was expected that side could have shown an effective game but quite opposite has happened as Basaksehirspor has been very passive both until it has conceded goals back-to-back and also after conceding goals has given up both mentally and physically. Basaksehirspor has been at the decline with its performance in recent weeks and this has been continued during this game. Therefore, among losing it was especially dissapointing to see Basaksehirspor to provide such slow and ineffective game for 90 minutes and right now side would need to regain confidence to end season at better note than now.

Gent without doubt did go through during this stage within 6 minutes as it has found 4 goals but this period has been incredible as Orban has shown performance which is being very similar to Erling Halland against RB Leipzig on previous day. Gent did want to go through to quarter-final more and got there.

Basaksehirspor hence has been relegated from Europa League with providing very dissapointin performance but in overall it needs to be mentioned that it did show some good game during whole competition.

Fenerbahce will aim to show great comeback against Sevilla

Fenerbahce would be coming to Europa League last 16 2nd leg game against with an aim to turnaround its tie against Sevilla after losing 1st leg with 2:0 scoreline which is being difficult task but still possible.

Even through Sevilla is without doubt most successful club at the tournament, it is not having very good season which could be seen from its performance at La Liga in recent weeks and also during 1st half against Fenerbahce. Key at this game would be to find 1st goal as soon as possible and both get time on its back for return of the game and also strong support from its supporters at the home ground. It needs to be stated that Fenerbahce did manage to find lots of goals at home ground both domestically and at Europa League group stage so there is some positive look. However, and even through there is no away goal rule it is still important not to concede goal so big role from defenders will play here. In Sevilla perspective, with such unsuccessful performance domestically it would be seeking to show some good game in this tournament and would be aiming to keep its tie advantage.

Fenerbahce without doubt would have tough time against Sevilla at home ground but positive attacking and defensive game could lead them to make historical comeback.

Sivasspor needs to believe that it can beat Fiorentina

Sivasspor would be coming out at home ground game at Conference League last 16 2nd leg game against Fiorentina as it relatively got good result in Italy with 1:0 scoreline but it need to show much more attacking game if it wants to go through.

Sivasspor did provide some positive performance at away game but has been especially poor at the league against Istanbulspor which did provide some worries but in other hand we need to see this 2 games as different ones and unrelated to each other. Sivasspor can provide some good attacking performance when needed but question here if it would be able to go through Fiorentina defence. As been noted, before 1st leg game Sivasspor in all fairness is not in same level as Basaksehirspor and Fiorentina is showing strong performance compare to when it met with Istanbul side, so compare that Fiorentina to that would be wrong. In here key would be to be mentally believing it can turn around tie and show positive performance.

Fiorentina still coming out as favourite but Sivasspor should fight for quarter-final ticket until end during 2nd leg.

Basaksehirspor would need to show effective game if it wants to get to quarter-finals.

Basaksehirspor would be aiming to use its home ground advantage during Conference League last 16 game against Gent after 1:1 draw in Belgium at the game which been played at difficult conditions.

As been noted beforehand among Turkish clubs competing in Europe, Basaksehirspor has got best opponent in this stage both when looking into opponent, to all respect towards Belgian side and also scoreline which it got. It needs to be mentioned as been stated beforehand that Basaksehirspor are being on decline as it didnt get much results during recent weeks which includes loss to Besiktas at the league despite of being side which did show stronger and more positive game.Basaksehirspor did show very good performance in the start of the season and it would need to show without doubt similar performance if it wants to get into quarter-final of the tournament or otherwise Gent would be seeking to use its chances which it would get during game.

Basaksehirspor does look to be favourite to get through but it would be tough game without doubt and side would need full concentration.

Antalyaspor has changed its CEO after Aziz Cetin resignation.

Sabri Gurel has been elected as new Antalyaspor CEO following Aziz Cetin resignation as he stated that he wanted to give an open to new names in the administration stating that this position needs to be changed after while.

Even through Antalyaspor are struggling during this season, it needs to be mentioned that in overall Aziz Cetin did show good performance during his reign with making some important transfers and also providing strong and confident performance in past season with coach Nuri Sahin providing some good results even through it needs to be mentioned that it didnt continue such performance and hence there is possibility that he did recieve some internal criticism within club which did lead him for such decision. Meanwhile, Sabri Gurel is being name within club administration team, being his assistant and hence is being familiar with club issues and would be looking for solutions.

Hence, there is change of administration team at the team and possibly this change might provide some solutions which teams during this season.

Erdogan Dogan considers to sign again Abdullah Avci as head coach.

There are rumours that Trabzonspor CEO candidate Erdogan Dogan who is also currently taking caretaking role at the club to once again appoint Abdullah Avci as club head coach.

Abdullah Avci did leave club officially as giving some opportunities but this could be also due of factor that he was considering to leave team for poor results as he failed to find solutions. Despite of such poor results during this season, administration which included Erdogan Dogan were happy with performance and did show him lots of support, and hence if this rumour is true it shouldnt be big surprise. Also difficulty of finding an available good coach at this stage of thsi season, could push side to make new deal with Avci.

It does look Trabzonspor would have lots of development in upcoming period and we would follow it in our accounts.

Besiktas keeps chances for 2nd spot with Basaksehirspor win.

Besiktas has managed to get back-to-back wins in th but e league and keep its chances alive for 2nd spot as it has beaten Basaksehirspor with 2:0 scoreline as it has used an advantage of opponent getting red card.

It needs to be stated that Besiktas did provide full dominance of the game and has found this win thanks to the top performance of Vincent Aboubakar who has singularly scored a goal during 1st half and during 2nd half has provided good assist to Masuaku. Without doubt, red card from Adnan Januzaj which does raise some discussion and also club showing some signs of tiredness from tough game against Gent has also affected positively to Besiktas. Still, despite of scoreline it is hard to state that Besiktas has shown strong and dominant game on the field and did provide some worries for upcoming games and needs to improve performance if it wants to keep chances for 2nd spot active as it is 5 points behind Fenerbahce with an extra game.

Its been important for Besiktas to get such important win for 3rd spot does provide opportunity to focus into higher spots in upcoming weeks.

Trabzonspor regained confidence in such difficult times.

Trabzonspor 4:1 win against Adana Demirspor should not be misleading as Adana Demirspor were not behind opponent for most amount of time and in some cases has even being ahead.

Stating that, it is been important for Trabzonspor to get this result at the time when team is not providing top level performance and is being without administration and head coach but it does have a player in hand of Edin Visca who has raised level of the team in attacking style. With being behind of top spots with point difference Trabzonspor without doubt would have issues with concentration but such win would provide them confidence for upcoming weeks without doubt.

Trabzonspor hence did use an extra player factor of needless red card from Youness Belhanda and would now seek for getting winning streak in such difficult season.

Mehmet Can Aydin chooses to play for Turkey at national team level.

Schalke 04 player Mehmet Can Aydin has chosen to play for Turkish National Team as he did also have an option to choose Germany and hence being new name at the squad who does have Germany academy background.

It needs to be mentioned that player who did come from Germany and hence did develop into that country football system, did play an important role at the Turkish National Team due of organisation and strictness which are being missing in Turkish academies in all fairness. Also, with Turkish National Team head coach Stefan Kuntz being from Germany would lead for both parties to get along in pretty good manner. Hence, Mehmet Can Aydin who as player also can provide some good performance is being good option and if he would be able to develop would provide crucial role in potential successes of the team in future.

Hence, this could be seen as good addition to the national team as it did get player with lots of potential in future.
