What happened in Turkish football today? 06/02/2023


 

Turkey has woken up with news about 7.8 earthquake at Kahramanmaras.

Turkey has been woke up at the terribe news of 7.8 earthquake with an epicentre of Kahramanmaras and has affected to 10 different areas in the country and on next day another earthquake with 7.7 scale.

Without doubt, following news has affected negatively to whole Turkey which also includes sports community around the world as TFF rightfully has decided that all games which been scheduled today has been postponed. Later, Turkish Sports and Ministry Mehmet Kasapoglu has announced all sports events has been postponed until 2nd notice given as it is not expected for any sports event to be taking place. With such big earthquake and being spreading in lots of areas view for the future would be very worrying but we would be hoping that there would be low amount of deaths and Turkey would be able to stand up strong after such tragedy.

Our page is sending strong condolences to all Turkish community with this tragic earthquake.

Sadly some football players are being under ruppless right now.

Some worrying news are coming out from sports community which includes of Turkish football as there are reports that number of players from Hatayspor, Yeni Malatyaspor and Iskendurunspor are being under rupples.

As time of the writing, there are been some positive news about some players to be saved from rupples especially of Hatayspor side but we are still hoping from news from many footballers and other members of sports community. Without doubt with an earthquake happening at the night has also have risk of rising death toll to high, hopefully not and we are hoping that we would be hearing some good news from everyone who are currently waiting for heroic rescuers to save them.

Turkish clubs will run campaign which would targeted towards earthquake victims.

Turkish football clubs as would been expected has announced that it would start its own campaign which would be send to earthquake areas which would be aimed to people who has been affected from earthquake.

With many clubs, especially big clubs, has announced its campaign with collection point beind its stores and it would be expected that even more clubs would be without doubt announce they own campaigns if there didnt yet. In here, role of Turkish supporters is to provide empathy and provide as much as they could. Without doubt, they would do that as Turkish community is known to provide strong support and hospitality when time needed most.

This campaigns are very important and for sure all of the clubs and other communities would focus and run successful campaigns around country.

In other news:

- Sivasspor head coach Riza Calimbay has announced that 15 family members of team assistant coach Ayhan Tenbeloglu has passed away at Hatay.

- Hatayspor player Christian Atsu has been securely rescued from rubbles due of earthquake. 

- YeniMalatyaspor player Cengizhan Akgun  has announced that his teammate Ahmet Eyup has been securely rescued from rubbles.

- - Hatayspor assistant coach Murat Bel and his family has been saved from rupples in Hatay at healthy condition.

- Kahramanmarasspor has announced that number of players are being under rubbles at one of the hotels in city. Some technical staff has been found and rescued.

- -Hatayspor players Bertug Yildirim and Kerim Alici were rescued from rupples following 7.8 earthquake in Turkey. Other player Onur Ergun, sports director Taner Savut and club translator are still under rupples

- TFF has announced that all games at Super League has been postponed to closest date due of 7.4 earthquake which took place in Turkey.
- TFF CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi has stated that federation would announce decision about league games on 7th February.
-DutchFootballFederation has announced that it would have 1 minute silence prior to all games in memory of 7.8 earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

- Trabzonspor, Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have launced aim campaign towards 7.8 earthquake which took place at epicentre of Kahramanmaras.
- Antalyaspor, Galatasaray, Besiktas, Ankaragucu has announced that club stores would be used as collection point of all aids which fans want to give to people affected by earthquake
- Sivasspor player Ugur Ciftci has announced that he has opened his opened football field which he owns for people affected by earthquake.
- It is reported that Yeni Malatyaspor player Baris Basdas has jumped from his window during earthquake and currently receives treatment at hospital.
- Antalyaspor has announced that it would send 10 trucks with aid to earthquake area
- Besiktas has announced that it would open blood collection point next to its stadium Vodafone Park for victims at earthquake
- TFF has announced that it would donor 20 million TL to areas which been affected by earthquake.
- Besiktas has called its fans to leave its aid for earthquake victims to Galatasaray stadium NEF Arena and Fenerbahce stadium Sukru Saracoglu if they unable to arrive to Vodafone Park.
- Kayserispor has announced that it would send 2000 pieces of winter fleece, scarf, beret, 1 truck of blanket and 1 truck of electric stove to areas affected by earthquake.
- Fenerbahce player Mert Hakan Yandas has send 200,000 TL for earthquake victims.
