What happened in Turkish football today? 21/02/2023

Hatayspor sports director Taner Savut has passed away under rubbles.

Hatayspor has announced that its sports director Taner Savut has died under rubbles at infamous Renassans Residence during devastating 7.7 earthquake at Southwest of the Turkey.

With Hatay as whole city has been heavily affected from earthquake and many death reports coming from city, it also needs to state that Hatayspor has been most heavily affected from this devastating earthquake among Super League clubs. With Rennasans Residences being especially into criticism, it also included Christian Atsu at same building among some other people from club has been passed away. This earthquake without doubt did provide lots of pain of Hatayspor and our pages is sending all of the condolences.

It would take a long time for Hatayspor to get into their feet both morally and also as club and everyone who is involved should provide support and patience towards them.

Adana Demirspor terminated contract with Gokhan Tore.

Adana Demirpsor has announced that it has terminated contract with its player Gokhan Tore as player is losing tempo which he did show in previous years and it didnt recieve lots of playing times at high aim club.

Without doubt, with Adana Demirspor very likely didnt plan to use him a lot of rest of the season did play an important role in this terminating contract as Tore would likely still to get some recieving game and does still show not very bad performance. He is likely to be making deal with new club from Super League but more modest side as there is time to move on this transfer window until 5th March.

Therefore, there would be given some interests among Super League clubs until end of the season which we would be following on our pages.

Zakharyan would not join Galatasaray due of personal reasons.

Dinamo Moscow player Arsen Zakharyan has stated that he would not join Galatasaray due of personal reasons despite of Turkish club having intensive negotiations with his side.

There might be questions what could be personal reasons of Zakharyan, and in here its important to note that he does have Armenian background which could played an important role in his decision, factor which didnt see to be mentioned in Turkish media a lot. It also needs to be mentioned that Dinamo Moscow and many Russian pundits were reluctant to sell player to Galatasaray as they see as going backwards for him potential player especially when Chelsea were showing interest towards him.

Therefore, Zakharyan has closed door for transfer with Galatasaray and right now club would likely for some new names in this window.
