What happened in Turkish football today? 23/02/2023

Trabzonspor has been relegated from Conference League.

Trabzonspor has been eliminated from Conference League after losing 2nd leg of 2nd round against Swiss side Basel with 2:0 scoreline and an aggregate of 2:1 even through it has been better side and in addiiton penalty and 2 goals were ruled out during game.

Even through Trabzonspor does continue getting negative result at away games as it lost to Basel this time and hence been out of tournament, it needs to be mentioned that it has actually been better side and creating chances and providing opportunities while Basel did use its opportunities in stronger manner with scoring 2 goals. As been noted, one of the Trabzonspor penalties in start of the 2nd half has been ruled out but it needs to be mentioned that Trabzonspor did get a penalty opportunity but it wasnt converted by Anastios Bakasetas. Trabzonspor despite of some decisions from referee team, even through most been rightfully, has been focussed into game and has always been side which did look for chances without giving up for 90 minutes. In other words, it could be mentioned that Trabzonspor has been relegated with heads up as it did provide an effective game which it can be happy about.

Basel on their part did show more or less controllable game and has used its opportunities and did stay always into high concentration which it needed to do against Trabzonspor. It has been lucky to go through in all fairness when looking into games of 2 legs, but again luck doesnt come to everyone.

Trabzonspor has been relegated from Conference League at pretty emotional tie due of recent devastating earthquake and it could be stated that it did good performance and has been pretty unlucky.

TFF has allowed players to be registered in 4 clubs during this season.

TFF has made an official statement regarding of allowing players to be played at 4 clubs during this season and also letting Gaziantep and Hatayspor player to be moving outside of country until 5th March.

As it is known, Gaziantep and Hatayspor due of devastating earthquake which took place on 6th February has made statement that it wont complete this season and TFF after approving has allowed players from side to play in other clubs for rest of the season mostly with loan deal. Therefore, there was needed to change guideline at which it allowed those players to be registered at 4 clubs and play for 3 clubs hence openning door for players which were transferred during mid-season transfer window. In addition, head coaches would be allowed to coach also 4 clubs this season.

Hence, this is being decision at extraordinary conditions and TFF has right action to act on this issue during this season.

Internacional has made transfer deal with Enner Valencia for next summer

Probably biggest transfer rumour which did come out from today has been that Internacional has made transfer deal with Fenerbahce player Enner Valencia for next summer transfer window.

It needs to be mentioned that following statement has been rumour and there were not made any statements from both clubs but if its being right information that it would be seen as not very good development as Enner Valencia does continue to be having memorable season right now which hence did raise such interests among memorable performance during World Cup 2022. Hence, it would be natural to expect for lots of clubs to show such interest and if true for Internacional to act very fast.

Once again this is being rumour but if its being true Fenerbahce would need to look for replacement for Valencia next summer.
