What happened in Turkish football today? 03/02/2023

Palabiyik decisions towards Fenerbahce raises lots of suspicions.

Turkish referee Ali Palabayik performance during Super League 22nd week between Adana Demirspor and Fenerbahce has once again questioned level of refereeing in Turkey into question and even more suspicious all decisions has been going against Fenerbahce.

Looking at the game it needs to be mentioned that it has been very exciting with both clubs and game could have ended in all of the possibilities but it would been ended in fair result if refere and VAR referees did they job right. It was clear that all refereeing team did come out to the game with an aim to prevent Fenerbahce to win game and possibly even more question from which body did such demand did come towards Palabiyik, with of course it being personal decision should not be ignored also. All of  the decisions which has been critcised during game without doubt has been very questionable which included Mert Hakan Yandas disallowed goal, 2 penalties decision not given to Fenerbahce player. Fenerbahce are reported to be planning to make some crucial actions and they have all right decisions to do so.

Referee decisions did aim to prevent for Fenerbahce to win game and this seems to be taking place often after match-fixing scandal which took place in this league.

Besiktas will play at difficult winter conditions against Sivasspor.

Besiktas would be coming out to must-win game against Sivasspor at one of the most difficult away games in normal circumstances but even more difficult during winter months.

To people who living in Turkey or aware of its geography would know that Sivas is being one of the coldest cities in the country and tend to get lots of snow. Taking account that most clubs including Istanbul ones are not used to be playing in such conditions, tend to be having some issues at those games. With Besiktas chances for title race are getting weaker by each loss of points, it has no other chance to win game but it needs to be mentioned that it would have pretty difficult game as among Sivasspor being more used to winter conditions at its own city but also does come out in good form.

Besiktas hence would be having difficult game in such crucial away game and important actions on field would have direct impact to outcome.

Basaksehirspor has loaned Adnan Januzaj until end of the season.

Basaksehirspor has managed to get one of the most eye-catching transfers during this mid-season transfer window as it has loaned Sevilla player Adnan Januzaj.

Our followers who has been following football for long time, would remember Januzaj as one of the potential stars at Barcelona during 2010's and was expected to become potential star of the game. More or less he was going through what is Gaby going through now to some extend. Even through Januzaj didnt fulfill those expectations, he is being a great player and has lots of potential and hence this loan deal from Sevilla has been an important one and would help a lot. With Basaksehirspor also competing at Conference League would allow him to remind himself not only in Turkey but in Europe of his level.

Hence, this being very successful transfer at Basaksehirspor and has all potential to mark his spot at Basaksehirspor and league in general for rest of the season.
