What happened in Turkish football today? 02/02/2023

Referees decisions overshadowed one of the best games of the season

Both Fenerbahce and Adana Demirspor has shown one of the best games during whole season as tempo of the game has been played into level of English Premier League even through it was behind in quality manner. However, it does look like referees felt uncomfortable for such high performance game to be played in this league as their overshadowed.

Both Fenerbahce and Adana Demirspor did come out to win game and with taking account that both sides enjoy to play high tempo performance it has ended up being an open game but level of game has been dropped as game been continuing. What is most dissapointing that aspect which has affected into drop of level of the game has been person who in normal circumstances would been least discussed and mentioned person: referee. What was most interesting aspect that most crucial decision during whole game has been given against Fenerbahce: which includes disallowing Mert Hakan Yandas goal which been likely his best goal in career with very questionable hand ball and also similarly not giving two penalties and fouls. It also needs to be stated that 2 penalties which were given in goal at Fenerbahce has been correct but this surely would not raise points much. With Ali Palabiyik taking one side of the game it did affect whole game and sadly raises some conspricacy questions to Fenerbahce fans and administrators.

Adana Demirspor did provide very good performance and so did Fenerbahce and the game ending with 1:1 scoreline is not suprising and would been surprising result with draw as both sides showed good game. This performance will provide strong confidence for upcoming games for both sides.

Fenerbahce did provide strong game among its opponent and could been remembered as one of the highlights of this season. Its still would but thanks to referee effort for different reasons.

Galatasaray got very tough win against Umraniyespor

Galatasaray continues getting wins as it got 11 back-to-back at the league with 3:2 scoreline against Umraniyespor even through it needs to be mentioned that it has been one of the most toughest win during whole season.

Without doubt, Galatasaray winning run deserves lots of praises from everyone as it got longest winning streak in its history but it needs to be admitted that for most amount of game it has won with luck and didnt provide very good performance as could be seen at Umraniyespor game especially at defence. Without doubt once again performance from Mauro Icardi which included panelka penalty goal and also great header once again showed that his being most skillful player at the team and possibly whole league and does get lion share of sides wins and advantage of title race. Still, Galatasaray would need to take lots of lessons from such game especially with defence as games would become more tougher in upcoming weeks.

Galatasaray did have issues at 1st half and sometimes could not be as lucky in such return so it would need to take lessons if it wants to fight for title.

Trabzonspor has no issues at home games at all

We are contuning to see 2 different Trabzonspor at home and away games as it continues its undefeated run at home ground beating confidently Antalyaspor with 2:0 scoreline.

It does look things are going pretty well at home ground with showing strong and agressive game and getting supporters trust on its back during whole game and didnt give much chances to Antalyaspor and among finding 2 goals, did look for different chances in whole game. Its been also especially pleasant to see Naci Unuvar to score his first league goal. Now Trabzonspor does have a good opportunity to end its poor away game performance as it would be meeting with Galatasaray in Istanbul as getting result againt league leaders would provide great confidence boost.

There is no issues for Trabzonspor at home, but it needs to found solutions at away games without doubt.
