What happened in Turkish football today? 28/10/2020

Basaksehirspor showed well-respected game against PSG.

Despite of losing to PSG with 2:0 scoreline at Champions League Group H 2nd week, it needs to be stated that Basaksehirspor provided very good performance overpassing its expectation by mile and did show it is capable to show similar game to big clubs even through of big squad differences.

Without doubt, Basaksehirspor provided right attitude to the game without providing any signs of fear toward last season finalists, focussing into providing strong attacking game with creating high amount of the chances and even in some periods of game did have upper hand of the game. Without doubt, when coming into note that PSG has been expected to get very easy win without allowing its opponents in most times not to get any opportunities, it is pretty impressive for Basaksehirspor to get 17 chances with some of them being pretty close to score goal which needs to be praised by itself without doubt. Therefore, it needs to be noted that Basaksehirspor didnt only get best results both into scoreline and most important with how it players did overpass. In fact with this coming into early evening on game night, meant with Krasnodar-Chelsea game, this is being 2 option for football fans in the world which meant without doubt it get high coverage from people who viewed Basaksehirspor first time for 90 minutes and very likely did get strong positive view from this viewers, proving its been decent and didnt become league winners by chance.

In other hand, it could be noted that even all of the well-deserved praises to Basaksehirspor, PSG didnt provide very good performance especially during 1st half but quality differences which been especially clear with Moses Keane 2 goals has played crucial for French side 1st win in competition.

Without doubt, Basaksehirspor did provide well-respect performance when comparing level of teams and does show ironically good performance in tournament despite of 0 points.

Sivasspor needs to show good defence game against Maccabi

Sivasspor will be resuming its Europa League campaign against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, as performance against Villarreal last week does provide some hopes for games against other opponents in the group.

As soon as draw has been announced its been agreed that with such opponent Sivasspor could be fighting for 2nd spot, with Villarreal getting confident 1st position in this group, therefore Sivasspor would be coming to its 1st game which it needs to win to make this into reality especially when Maccabi Tel-Aviv did win during opening week against Qarabag. Without doubt, while Sivasspor does see Maccabi beatable team to all respect for both sides, Israel side would be approaching this game in similar manner and does get extra motivation for last week results. Therefore, without doubt Sivasspor would need to focus into its defensive game without making same mistakes it did during previous week for sure as opponent likely to show attacking game. In other hand, repeat of Sivasspor attacking game against Villarreal will make win closer to them for sure.

Sivasspor does come out with opponent which it capable to win but it needs to show very high level game as difference are not big between sides.

Fenerbahce appoints Emre Belozoglu as sports director for 1-year

Fenerbahce has officially appointed Emre Belozoglu as club's sports director for season even through he was taking this role since May playing crucial role for signing 18 players in this difficult summer transfer window.

Without doubt, Fenerbahce for this season did go for very drastic changes and one of them has been for Emre Belozoglu ending his footballing career and straight away becoming club sports director role changing whole side hence making sure that he among his co-workers does have some important changes. One of the main issues with recent sports director in club, has been to appoint foreign high level sports director who however are not familiar into how things work in Turkey and hence did fail on they job. Hence, it was important to get local name and with Belozoglu being inexperienced in this field truly did some changes. He been signed for 1-year since Ali Koc CEO duration would end next year but if he would be re-elected Belozoglu very likely to continue his spot.

Emre Belozoglu has been appointed as sports director and has all reason to continue his job in successful manner as he did up to now.
