What happened in Turkish football today? 24/10/2020

Galatasaray got crucial win after 3 weeks despite of not slow tempo.

Galatasaray has got its first win following 3 weeks as it got away win against Erzurumspor which did have good season so far and it needs to be noted thats its not been specifically easy for Istanbul side.

With both sides mainly focussed into providing tactical game with reducing tempo of the game, it could be noted that for  Galatasaray without doubt it was more important to win this game without focussing too much how it would manage to do that and this mentality without doubt did affect club psychology. Still, with Radamel Falcao red card prior to around 20 minutes before game has been ended against side which did aim for draw at least without doubt could be seen as good outcome for them. In addition that, Radamel Falcao also provided best performance in whole field with finding winning goal and getting good opportunity on 6th minute among overall willing performance did provide some worries after red card. However, one of the negative points of this game for Galatasaray been certainly lack of showing high level tempo game which does show that side does lose that creative aspect which side did show in beginning of season and which Fatih Terim seeked for but once again this could been due of mentality of coming to win.

Erzurumspor meanwhile did provide very good performance without able to show its best game which been seen from previous game as it didnt play for 3 weeks due of last week game against Hatayspor been postponed. Erzurumspor needs to get lessons from this game.

Galatasaray didnt provide their best game in sense of tempo but still got very important win regarding gaining confidence and motivation which will have positive impact in upcoming weeks.

Fenerbahce will be coming out as favourites to Trabzonspor game

Even through Fenerbahce arguably doesnt provide best performance during games, it would be coming out to struggling Super League 6th week against Trabzonspor game as being among Alanyaspor, two sides which didnt lose game so far this season.

This factor without doubt does put them into favourite for the game with taking account that side does improve its performance by each week and getting more used to each other with teamw while Erol Bulut is getting close to find best kind of game tactically for side currently. Getting win against one of its main opponents in the league, regardless if they struggling form would without doubt also provide motivation for upcoming games. Fenerbahce despite of losing last game in Turkish Cup to opponent, still continue undefeated period a home ground since 1997 which would provide extra motivation and confidence for sure. Still, Fenerbahce still needs to be focussing into providing top level game for 90 minutes which seems to be issue especially side being fatique towards end of game and this could become key factor for them to win game or not.

Fenerbahce still would be coming out to game as favourites for sure and would be focussed likely for attacking game with strong defence performance too.

Trabzonspor needs to be focussed and motivated for Fenerbahce game

On other hand, Trabzonspor would be coming out in pretty poor condition in such important game against Fenerbahce as it is being pretty far at providing its best level game especially when comparing from last season.

Trabzonspor which did come out in better mental condition against Basaksehirspor has failed to get upper hand against they opponents with players having lack of concentration and motivation which led them apart of start of game to show good game. Playing against opponent like Fenerbahce in such level again without doubt would lead them to get another loss. Meanwhile, it needs to be reminded that Covid19 does affected negatively to side as Caleb Ekuban, Abdulkadir Pamuk and unnamed player are currently being isolated. Still, without doubt head coach Eddie Newton needs to find ways how to motivate players which has in disposal for this game to get result as lack of this factor could affect to team in negative manner without doubt. Playing against Fenerbahce and see it as opportunity to turn around its poor result on other hand could provide some extra motivation also.

Trabzonspor would see this game as turning point but to get win its need to show its best game so far this season without doubt.
