What happened in Turkish football today? 09/10/2020

Galatasaray gives salary cut to all players regardless they stance.

Galatasaray has announced that it didnt reduce salaries of its players who didnt accept 15% salary drop in October payments, hence making clear that it doesnt accept attitude of its players in this difficult economic times.

Galatasaray didnt announce names of the players who didnt accept 15% decline of salary, but long-term followers of Turkish football and Galatasaray would be having good idea who are those players. Such move it needs to be does provide that administration due of economical issues which been worsen by Covid19 leads them to make such decisions and it would not be accepted at all for sure. However, due of limitness of squad and pretty slow transfer window it does have option to terminate or leave players at side but it would be reasonably to expect, from players perspective, to psychology provide less stronger motivated performance during game so economically it was understandable decision but it would have sportive circumstances.

Once again normally club would go as far as ending contract against those players but it can do so due of circumtances.

Khimki has offered 2 million euro for Adem Ljajic.

Its been reported that Russian club Khimki has offered 2 million euro for Besiktas player Adem Ljajic as transfer window there ends on 16th October.

Since start of the summer transfer window, Ljajic been among players who side was considering to sell due of high salary and decline of performance but Ljajic has been declining all offers he has recieved since it didnt reach to level of Besiktas salary. It is needed to be noted that possibly he would also decline Khimki but in duration of week Besiktas still could find way how to sell player to Russia with possibly negotiations between all parties but its crucial to end stubborness of Ljajic here.

Still, if it manages to sell him it would provide lots of relaxation for sure to them without doubt.

Galatasaray considers to extend contract with Marcao and double his salary.

It became clear that Galatasaray considering to provide extension to its player Marcao who enters to his last year of contract as player during this season so far and in general provided very good performance.

With 1 million euro salary during this season club does consider to raise this value to double to 2 million euro as he is being among below average salaries in league and he did highly deserved without doubt with his recent performance at the club and also would not have negative impact to economy as it is still pretty modest amount. Taking account that he could become one of the key players in the side in this season it would be providing without doubt high motivation for him and raise performance.

Marcao as been noted would become key player to side this season so this is highly expected and right move by them for sure.
