What happened in Turkish football today? 14/10/2020

Turkey once again has shown poor game during 1st half.

Turkish National Team has managed to get behind from 2:0 to 2:2 and hence has managed to keep themselves at 3rd spot at the Nations League League B 3rd group against Serbia after 4th week despite of showing pretty ineffecitve game but still kept its character.

With last place of the group being relegated to lower league in this competition, its been important at least not to draw in the group as it does look like opportunities for getting top position in the group for promotion does look to be very unlucky even through mathematically it has chances for last 2 week games. Coming to game, it needs to be noted that Turkey in similar manner did show pretty poor game during 1st half as it did against Russia. To some extend, it should be noted that Turkey didnt manage to raise its level of game during 2nd half even through it did show comeback from 2:0 thanks to goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and Ozan Tufan which did show such comeback with both side showing strong character and also Serbia showing some signs. Without doubt, Turkey comeback needs to be praised but as been noted this performance wasnt in level which would been accepting as Turkey did come out to game as strong favourite with games against Germany and Russia. One of the most important aspect is that Turkey did ineffective game during 1st half and such poor start did prevent side to get important 3 points in this game. It does look like most thing which Turkey head coach Senol Gunes would need to think how to make sure side does start at top level and spread to 90 minutes.

Serbia it could be stated didnt show quality game which been affected with overall poor game at the group and also missing half of the players who left side earlier and did come out so its need to be mentioned that Turkey didnt get much strong opponent who in all fairness did lose for tiredness which it experienced during 2nd half.

Turkey seems to be losing points with poor 90 minutes in those 2 games and does put its chances of top position in this group but needs to be careful as it could be relegated to lower division.

Some clubs CEO still doesnt understand seriousness of Covid19 regulations.

With seriousness of condition of Covid 19 is being unclear in Turkey, with health ministry expected to announce number of cases on 15th October as it became known that up to now country been focussed into number of patients, number of clubs are calling to allow supporters to enter to game.

It needs to be noted that TFF has announced that 50% of capacity of lodges in all fairness, even through been approved by science committee, is being decided mainly due of economical aid for the clubs and not much into safety of condition we are at currently. Still, even with such decision some TFF are not happy and does call for more supporters to be allowed. One of the arguments, even through technically right one, is that number of countries does allow number of supporters to stands, most with 30% capacity, but there are forgetting that number of cases around Europe is currently rising which tends to be case in Turkey as it became clear that Science Committee are meeting to discuss current rise. Therefore, number of this countries are considering to reduce number of allowed supporters. Therefore, and with Turkey only entering to cooling of weather it needs to be going back to health first consideration as things would get worser if not done rightly, understandgly and patiently.

It is true that we need to learn to live with virus and its impossible to eliminate, but we need to do best to reduce spread into lowest so worser dates will not come.

4 players got positive test results from Super League squad

Even through it would be seen as expected and as been seen as normality, Covid 19 2 cases has been reported each at Rizespor and Hatayspor which does show that it does spread in country and footballing world.

With Cristiano Ronaldo getting virus, does show noone is immune to it and this does seem to be case in Turkey where players whose catching it, unless if it done unexpectedly, would need to be extra careful as there might be putting down of its football team and needs to be extra careful. Without doubt this blog does wish fast recovery for players who got virus in Turkish football during past 2 days to show fast recovery. Still, with so far no single game being postponed does provide view that its been managed in good manner without much spread, even through Antalyaspor situation prior to Besiktas where high number being reported to get positive test results which later turned into negative does raise some questions.

So far, it does look like players being careful but its important for them not to relax with being careful of behaviour outside.
