What happened in Turkish football today? 11/07/2020

Side which would want to get win would be closer to achieve it in key game between Fenerbahce and Sivasspor.

With fight for 3rd place at the Super League is getting heating up between 4 clubs prior to 3 weeks until end of the season, Sivasspor without doubt would be coming out to most important game of whole season against Fenerbahce.

With CAS meeting regarding situation of 1-year ban of Trabzonspor would be taking place on 16th July, if decision would approve UEFA decision would mean 3rd place team will qualification for Champions League. With Sivasspor being on 3rd spot with 54 points while Fenerbahce at 7th with 50 points, this game would have direct impact for achieving this aim. If Sivasspor wins it would keep its 3rd spot regardless of its opponents while Fenerbahce winning would keep their chances closer. Even through for such aim is running bigger risk as with loss it won't be able to get to 3rd spot, loss to Sivasspor would provide difficulty for this aim with Besiktas and Alanyaspor being 1 and 2 points behind respectivelly. Without doubt, with this taking accounts both sides would give their best for win.

Therefore, without doubt both sides would be giving their best performance and side which would like to get this game more would get 3rd spot.

Both Galatasaray and Ankaragucu would need to win.

Both Galatasaray and Ankaragucu will be coming out to very important game which would be able to identify aims for last 2 weeks as Galatasaray would be aiming for its 1st win since Covid19 break against last spot opponent while their would be aiming for win to keep their chances to stay in league alive.

Without doubt with having high number of injuries since restart of the season and also poor performance in overall would provide negative impact for the motivation and confidence for the side and what in normal circumstances would be seen game where their are favourites could turn out to be pretty problematic. Stating that Ankaragucu are showing poor performance so to some extend their are favourite to get long awaited win and find themselves again with high hopes for getting 3rd spot in the end of the season but once again Fatih Terim does have difficult task to motivate players. It is also questionable how Ankaragucu would respond for this game with being motivated by poor performance of Galatasaray on their part.

Hence this would be crucial game for both sides to identify aims for rest of the season but its more difficult for Ankaragucu.

2nd test for Covid19 infected referee has turned out to be negative.

TFF has announced today that 2nd Covid test of unnamed Super League referee who got negative result following 10th July test result has turned out to be negative, but due of precautions would be staying on isolation.

It does look like 1st result of this test could be given wrong result or other way round today's result could be wrong as it been seen on previous cases and here would be important to go through 3rd test which is likely to be taken on 11th July. Stating that it has been seen as positive development as having one of the referees to be having virus as we are entering would be unwanted development both to TFF and Central Referee Committee for sure and also prevent to end season without any cases. This negative result without doubt would be great news and likely this referee would be refereeing game until end of the season.

There is likely to be 3rd case and our page would inform of its result as soon its been reported for sure.
