What happened in Turkish football today? 09/07/2020

Besiktas got important win while its direct opponents lost points this week.

Besiktas has got crucial win against Kasimpasa thanks to the last minute goal by Guven Yalcin at the game which ended up being more tough then side did expect to be and has moved to 4th place with being 1 point behind 3rd place Sivasspor.

It needs to be noted that Besiktas did start game in fast tempo with finding an early goal thanks to Tyler Boyd who has scored his 1st goal during this season which needs to be admitted was hard-fought goal. However, with injuries of Gokhan Gonul and to some extend even more crucial of Burak Yilmaz did affect to performance of the side which it has shown in upcoming minutes and provided confidence to Kasimpasa which led for Koita to find 2 more goals and continue good performance. However, it needs to be admitted that Besiktas has shown some strong character providing much more confident performance. In fact, with it looking that teams which are located at Europa League zone didnt want to get 3rd spot but with fighting until end of the game, side without doubt did provide strong character and has found without doubt crucial goal thanks to Guven Yalcin. With such goal Besiktas could be aiming for top 3 which could be ideal taking account how this season been for them.

 Meanwhile Kasimpasa who did come out to the game as underdogs did provide strong character and performance for this game without doubt did provide strong performance and would be seeing side which did lose at least 2 points.

Trabzonspor is getting further from title. 

Trabzonspor has lost very important 2 points during Super League 31st week against Antalyaspor and finds itself 4 points behind league leaders Basaksehirspor with only 3 weeks left to be played during this season.

Galatasaray has completed this season mentally

Even through Galatasaray did provide control of the game against Alanyaspor, it did lose game with 4:1 scoreline which does provide that it lost concentration in the end of the 2 halves and mentally ended season.

Galatasaray has failed to win any game since leagues resumes following Covid 19 and currently are in serious risk of being outside from European football if it continues this performance. Interestingly, with all clubs which are at Europa League losing points at weekly basis it still has opportunity to end at 3rd place but losing to Alanyaspor, which now got 1 point behind them does provide how difficult it would be case if Galatasaray doesnt start winning. But looking how their performing right now, it is hard to see them start gaining points in those crucial weeks. It does look side has ended season, and it is hard to gain motivation for last 3 games.

Even through Galatasaray still plays for Europe, mentally club seeing this games as formality for sure, due of being side which always aims for title.
