What happened in Turkish football today? 19.08.2017

Galatasaray carries on great start to season with a win against Osmanlispor.

Galatasaray carries on its great start of this season as it has made 2 out of 2 with winning this time against Osmanlispor in Ankara with 3:1 scoreline and even through it could been argued that Galatasaray didnt perform with high tempo as it did against Kayserispor, it still got a confident score and has scored 7 goals during 2 weeks.

Without doubt Galatasaray is the best form at this early stages of the season and if it carries on performing like that during this season it would become easily one of the main contenders for league title. Before season as it is known Galatasaray has been criticised a lot and that most of the transfers are not players which needed to the team. However, with how Galatasaray has performed today it became clear that those players has played an important role. Taking account that most of the teams against Galatasaray as with other other big 3 teams tend to play mainly defensive football it is very important achievement to find 7 goals in duration of the 2 weeks. This shows that creativity at the front is very strong. Galatasaray CEO Dursun Ozbek has demanded from his players to carry on this performance and it does look like their would for upcoming weeks.

Osmanlispor in other hand still carries on its weak performance in the start of this season as it has lost also to Yeni Malatyaspor last week. Osmanlispor tried to play organised football but didnt manage to show that and couldnt respond to Galatasaray game style effectively today.

Galatasaray as stated is the best team at the form and currently turns out to be team to beat. Possibly loss to Ostersunds was a great wake up call to a team back in July and we do see totally different Galatasaray compare to last 2 seasons.

Fabri has issues of catching balls coming from outside penalty zone.

Besiktas carries on its two recent anti-achievements as it has once again lost points during 2nd week of the season and also to Kasimpasa, but interestingly enough when it has showed those misachievements it has won league title at the end of the season. This of course doesnt mean that it would become champions as this season promsies to be more exciting compare to previous ones.

Besiktas has been observed to be one of the few teams which didnt start in the way it has wished for without providing high tempo games in 3 official games so far and does look like that it needs time to become stronger. With season being on early days maybe it would be unfair to criticise them a lot but the team is not showing great image. It needs to be stated that Besiktas did control most part of the game from start to end and has only allowed 2 chances to the Kasimpasa as it has scored from outside penalty zone. Meanwhile, even through its hard to blame Fabri for 1st goal, 2nd goal scored by Trezeguet does show that Fabri does have an issue with catching balls from long distance. Besiktas wasnt at their best during the game and had made a crucial mistake for not scoring 3rd goal when it had chances believing that 2:1 would be enough for them.

Besiktas does lack of high tempo which we used to see from them in past 2 seasons but it needs to be remembered that it had showed similar start last season and hence possibly needs some time as team.

Both Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor would aim to beat each other.

One of the most awaiting games of this game will be taking place between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor which promises to be with full of excitement and both teams giving their best to win this important game between one of the main rivarlies.

As it is known Fenerbahce didnt start season too well while Trabzonspor has won Konyaspor with the help of Burak Yilmaz during last week and with comparing two teams perfomances Trabzonspor seems to be in better condition but it needs to be remembered that Fenerbahce does show good performance in recent years against their opponents with also having an important bonus of playing at home such an important game. Fenerbahce in fact is very likely seeing this game as a chance to go up with their performance with tomorrow win as it would lead them into higher motivation mood for rest of the season and more crucially before 2nd leg Europa League game against Vardar. In other hand, Trabzonspor which sees as an important season for them as it is celebrating 50th anniversary. It would certainly aim to continue its top performance and try their best to win this game.

With also Giuliano expecting to be starting at the game tomorrow we could see more organised
Fenerbahce while Burak Yilmaz would be looking for goal at the Trabzonspor side. Surely its close to call winner at such an important game so early at the season.
