Besiktas has won game despite Antalyaspor not letting them play their football.
Title holders has started openning week of the new Super League season with 2:0 win against Antalyaspor despite of playing game without fans and also Antalyaspor doing everything to slow down game with high number of the fouls done.
The game in fact was played in very slow pace with both sides controlling game at the midfielding area and a lack of fast football to be played. One of the main reason for this without doubt that game been played without supporters due of Besiktas ban following Super Cup game and also for Antalyaspor fouling a lot for Besiktas not to allow them to play its fast football. Even through Besiktas has lacked to play in their wanted style their still got what their wanted with goal from Pepe at the end of 1st half. In fact, as Pepe found goal it became clear that it would win game as game-wise Antalyaspor didnt have much footballing tactics with lacking of creating much chances. With this anti-football performance during this game it was important to Besiktas to found 2 goals and get what it wanted in the game.
Antalyaspor which has been praised by our blog during pre-season period didnt provide much football and as been stated it played anti-football and aimed at least for a draw. It didnt get what it wanted and it aims for Europa League could be doubtful if it would play like in upcoming games.
Besiktas didnt play football which it wanted and surely which fans demanded while watching game at homes but it still got a win and made 1 step to defend its league title.
Burak Yilmaz has shown that he aims to score as much as he can.
Trabzonspor has started its 50th anniversary season with a win over Konyaspor with 2:1 scoreline where Burak Yilmaz has scored both goals and has shown that he has all intentions to become most goalscorer of this season and lead team for possible league title.
It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor has shown a pretty positive football but it did lack a bit of raising pace of the game and also defending against Konyaspor in some chances especially during 1st half. Konyaspor who was coming to the game with winning Super Cup during last week game against Besiktas has started game in focus at winning mood as it has found early goal and has dominated game. However, Trabzonspor did also look that it was aiming to start league well especially it was specifically clear by Burak Yilmaz who has found 2 goals. It needs also stated that game unfortunately has been also played with high tensions at occassions with both sides players going into each other.
Even through Konyaspor has lost its opening week game against Trabzonspor it did provide some good image with providing a view that it might be playing positive and attacking football this season and would be tough to beat.
Trabzonspor season which it aims to win league title has started in great for them and Burak Yilmaz has send message to its fans and other teams that he intends to score as much as goals as he can.
Watching Fenerbahce against Goztepe was like deja vu of last season.
Fenerbahce performance during opening week of the Super League against Goztepe has provided some deja vu feeling from last season performance as the team has shown same weaknesses which were present during last season.
One of the characters which has been criticised heavily during Fenerbahce during past 2 seasons has been of the slow football and issues at the midfield area and same problems has been once again visible during yesterday's game. Fenerbahce head coach Aykut Kocaman has stated that team does need 8-9 weeks to start playing its best football and main focus is to gain points as much as points, but it had started league with losing 2 points. In fact, Fenerbahce did start game in good way showing good attacks and organisation and finding early goal but after conceding on 8th minute with big mistake by Volkan Demirel the problems at the teams became visible. It needs to be remembered that both Roberto Soldado and Giuliano, one of the key transfers of the team this summer didnt play as their just arrived to Istanbul but with their top performance with team and also willing Valbuena could make team to go forward in upcoming weeks.
Following Europa League play-off round 1st leg game against Vardar, Fenerbahce would have a tough game against Trabzonspor and this football will not be enough to beat them and hence their need to improve for this big game.
