What happened in Turkish football today? 18.08.2017
Besiktas could not raise tempo while Kasimpasa has managed to keep it down.
Following Super League 2nd week game between Kasimpasa and Besiktas which has ended with 2:2 scoreline has led for both teams to lose their first points during this season with Besiktas still lacking its tempo.
For long time it is known for Kasimpasa, especially against big 4 teams, to slow down tempo and focus into getting wins or draws without too much risk. With Besiktas not still finding its tempo which it used to perform during previous last 2 seasons, this tactic has went into Kasimpasa hand. It also needs to be stated that goals scored by Neumayr and Trezeguet from far has also played an important role and especially at 1st goal has been difficult to be saved. Besiktas did show willingness to win game especially with its going forward following conceding 2nd goal but against with possible lack of conditonality which team led them to be not very effective during game. Usually Besiktas did manage to overcome even against team which try to slow down, as it did last week against Antalyaspor but this time it had trouble to get into good chances even through when it did it scored 2 goals.
Kasimpasa didnt provide a great football themselves and despite of getting an important draw it did show possibly too much respect to Besiktas and if its played more brave it might get a win. Still tactically this has been an important point for them with slow but what end up being an effective football game.
Besiktas it needs to be reminded didnt also start last season a great way and was also criticised for not being enterily ready and therefore its too early to state that Besiktas might have bad season but it didnt start season well.
Fenerbahce is lacking creativity against Vardar.
Fenerbahce has recieved highly unexpected result during Europa League play-off round 1st leg game result against Vardar during at which it has lacked lots of creativity and as been stated by Vardar head coach himself, their have won game with the help of Fenerbahce.
Vardar has managed to win game with 2:0 scoreline with only one shot on target which has turned into goal by Baghsayan, while 2nd goal has been scored towards end of the game with Mehmet Topal very amateur own goal which has happened with simple misunderstand with him and Kameni. Coming to the game, Fenerbahce as expected did control game and has done lots of passes which led for high possession, but it couldnt turn into this keeping of ball towards creativity. One of the issues at the team, at least at yesterday's side, has been lack of creative player with only Matheiu Valbuena showing some good football. Stating that, with Soldado getting more adapted to the team and Giuliano start playing in upcoming games this factors are expected to move team into improvement with performance. Coming to the 2nd leg, Fenerbahce still expects to get to the group stage with high quality difference compare to Vardar but it needs to improve and take things more seriously.
Fenerbahce has started season in pretty dissapointing manner so far and would be playing against Trabzonspor which has started game at very high note. Trabzonspor does come out as favourite but Fenerbahce has capability to win at home.
Osmanlispor is expected to test level of performance of Galatasaray even more.
Galatasaray, which has been seen as team with best performance during openning week of the new season at Super League, would now meet with Osmanlispor which has lost surprisingly to the Yeni Malatyaspor at 1st week.
Even through Osmanlispor has lost to Yeni Malatyaspor last week it still does have good team and is capable at providing high level football at game tomorrow with the chances for providing more focus to the game. Therefore, to all respect to Kayserispor, Galatasaray would play much more tougher opponent tomorrow and hence will be much bigger test to the team. This blog as remembered has stated that Galatasaray has shown very impressive football but Kayserispor has allowed them to do so. Therefore, Osmanlispor would be able to show if Galatasaray is as strong as their look like. One thing is certain with Galatasaray community not looking very positively this season has gained lots of motivation from Kayserispor game and would be expected to transform this to Osmanlispor game which means that Ankara site might not have easy game as Galatasaray expected to go forward once again.
It is among most awaited games of this week with Osmanlispor being good team and also how Galatasaray opened new season but as said this game is bigger test for them.
