What happened in Turkish football today? 23.03.2017
Turkish National Team needs to play fast-paced football and stay focussed against Finland.
Following 5 month break, road for the World Cup 2018 in Russia will be restarted during this weekend and there is very crucial game for Turkish National Team against Finland at the game which it needs to win, but lucky for them their are coming as strong favourites to the game.
It needs to be noted more importantly that following poor performance by the Turkish National Team at the Euro 2016, Turkish National Team would be coming at the most calm condition without any scandals, questions at the squad and any other polemics topics set by the media or by the team. This would probably provide a possible aspect at the team even through there were arguments beforehand that Turkish National Team does perform pretty well during crises. Stating that historically Turkey does tend to lose points against weaker opponents during qualifiers, or in other words at teams which are not their direct opponents and therefore it needs to be stay focussed to the game if it wants to win it. Finnish team meanwhile has stated several times prior to game that it would focus into defence showing that team is aware of strong performance at the front by Turkey, which leads that Turkey mainly would need to play a fast football.
This game is very important for Turkey to get once again hope to end qualifiers at the top 2 spot at its group to take place at the World Cup next summer.
Arsenal are interested to transfer Barcelona player Arda Turan.
One of the most talking transfer rumours which was discussed today at the footballing world is news from British media that Arsenal plans to provide 30 million euro offer to the Barcelona player Arda Turan. With such an amount it believed that Barcelona might have trouble at saying no if this is true.
To some extend, this would mean that Turan would go into level below in the club football. Of course, Arsenal is a major club which is great history and always competing at Champions League knockouts but with levels it is not same as Barcelona. According to media reports, the aim for the Arda Turan would be to replace its other footballing star Mesut Ozil which it plans to sell during summer transfer window. The value itself is of course very high but it is reasonable as it is known that neither Barcelona doesnt want to sell Arda nor Arda Turan wants to leave the team. Teams which even would have some chance to get him therefore would need to pay high amount of cash to make it possible. Of course, this is only being rumour for now and some interesting aspects would come up with this story.
Even through Arsenal is in level-below than Barcelona as been mentioned, to some argument Premier League compare to La Liga is bigger tournament with bigger competition between teams and in level of football it would actually assist his performance as he needs to stay focussed. Therefore this possible move could help Arda Turan in future.
Besiktas considers to loan Emre Mor for 1 year from Borussia Dortmund.
Another rumour which has been going around Turkish sports media is an interested to loan Borussia Dortmund Turkish wunderkind Emre Mor for 1 year with using fact that he doesnt play a lot at the German side.
The idea and argument from Besiktas is to state that Emre Mor could recieve lots of game-time and get an experience after which he could return back to the Germany. According to reports, both club and Mor seeing this idea as good one and would bring both parties as a win. It is known that Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel has full trust towards future of Emre Mor and his role at the team but due of inexperience he doesnt want to play him a lot. Another aspect here is that Emre Mor tends to be too self-focussed at the field with some selfcentred reactions and moves which also brings Tuchel lack of playing him a lot. Besiktas is known to control this players pretty well especially by Senol Gunes and hence the team could also solve this issue of him being hot-blooded during and outside games.
Even through Emre Mor is known to refused to move to Turkey as he sees his as better team his aim to develop at Besiktas for 1 year is different issue and he would see this an offer as good one, unless there will be others from other clubs around Europe and it can happen.
