Besiktas qualifies to quarter-final of Europa League.
Despite of playing for more than 1 half without one man, due of needless Aboubakar red card on 38th minute, during Europa League last 16 2nd leg game against Olympiakos, Besiktas has recieved very confident win with 4:1 scoreline at the game which it has deserved and now has become a step closer to the final at the Stocholm on May.
It needs to be stated that one of the important factors for the success during today's game would been a fast goal scored by Besiktas which would be given calmness to them and pressure towards Olympiakos. Besiktas did more than that as it has found 2 goals during 1st 22nd minutes with goals from Vincent Aboubakar and Ryan Babel. It has conceded one goal on 31st minute and also Vincent Aboubakar has got one red card. Current situation has meant that one goal for Olympiakos would mean that Istanbul representative would been out from competition. But even when Greek side has provided high number of dangerous attacks, Besiktas managed to stay organised and later has scored two goals towards end of the game with Ryan Babel 75th minute has brough ticket to quarter-final while Cenk Tosun has brought cream to the cake. Great win for Besiktas which it has purely deserved and surely has send strong message to its opponents at the competition.
It needs to be stated that Olympiakos did try their best during the game especially at the start of 2nd half where it was looking for one goal which would brought them quarter-final with having extra man, but Besiktas quality, hunger from fans has decided game quite fairly to Istanbul side.
Besiktas has qualified to quarter-final in fair way as it has provided good performance in 2 legs providing smart football against pretty tough opponents. Now it would look for another opponent at the draw tomorrow.
Fenerbahce would try to win game against their potential future head coach.
Last week prior to the national team break would be started with one of the most awaiting games at the league between Fenerbahce and Konyaspor due of quality of the game itself and also with the factor that Fenerbahce strongly considers to appoint Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman as coach for next season.
It is quite clear that their would be statements to be made about this rumours especially from Aykut Kocaman himself as until now he stated that he would think about his future at Konyaspor and didnt give yet clear answer. Coming to the game, it needed to be stated that Fenerbahce does show some improvement at the recent games at least with scoreline as it has managed to win last 3 official games. Right now Fenerbahce is focussed to get runners-up spot for Champions League qualifiying or at least to secure its Europa League spot and hence it would be aiming to win the game as would be same for other 10 weeks left in the league. Meanwhile, even through Konyaspor is not having great season especially when comparing to previous one their would aim to provide very tough times for Fenerbahce as their tend to do especially and regardless for good results lately, its still not at their best. Biggest blow for Fenerbahce meanwhile would be certainly be absence of Jeremain Lens.
Fenerbahce it needless to say does come out as favourite for this game but it wont be an easy game for them as Konyaspor would be able to hit hard into weaknesses which Fenerbahce have this season with its performance.
Igor Tudor seem to prefer Josue over Wesley Sneijder.
It became clear that Galatasaray head coach Igor Tudor plans to start Super League 25th week against Trabzonspor with Josue once again as he did last game in replacement of Wesley Sneijder, who could be introduced to the field in last half an hour.
Even through last week decision was done mainly decided due of injury there are reports that Wesley Sneijder is in good condition and capable to play this weekend. However, it does look like that Tudor is also happy with Josue and does see him as strong alternative to the Sneijder, not only when Dutch star is injured but also when he is not performing at his best. Josue did show pretty good performance during Genclerbirligi during weekend and also towards the training session and therefore with fairness it is actually good decision as Sneijder is not showing his performance due of his current age. However, not playing Sneijder who costs a lot to a team and has star name could raise some criticism towards Igor Tudor.
But once again if this decision would bring good results to the Galatasaray, their will not be much problems but again it is clear if Josue is capable to keep his football at high level all the time.
