What happened in Turkish football today? 14.03.2017

N'doye has played an important role with a win against Akhisar Belediyespor.

Trabzonspor has carried on its undefeated reign of the 2017 at the Super League at the game against Akhisar Belediyespor during 24th week, despite of not providing a very good football at the 1st half and not showing a very attacking football compare to previous games.

It needs to be mentioned that the main role for the Trabzonspor more active performance at the game has been mainly due of introduction of the N'doye during 2nd half of the game. His introduction to the field has provide much better and faster play and his creative football especially after 1st goal has provided some more pleasant viewing from Trabzonspor players. Akhisar Belediyespor it needs to stated has started game pretty well with finding an early goal but as team head coach Tolunay Kafkas has stated that team has issues of responding when conceding goal and following this loss are 7 points away from relegation zone. Trabzonspor meanwhile has undoubetly carried on its winning mood which would be crucial for their performance until end of the season.

As been mentioned before, Trabzonspor would now have its biggest test for 2017 at the Super League 25th week game against Galatasaray on 18th March. The result and performance of that game would make it even more clearer if their do have team which could fight for league title next season.

Fenerbahce plans to appoint Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman for next season.

There are strong reports at the media that Fenerbahce would certainly now end its contract with its current head coach Dick Advocaat and has arleady found replacement of him who would be Aykut Kocaman who has an important place at history of the team.

However, as would been expected it is not clear if he would be able to join team as Konyaspor, where Kocaman is right now, has stated that the team has intentions to keep him as coach until end of the contract which ends on May 2018. It needs to be reminded that during last week there was a big argument between Kocaman and club with some statements criticing himself but it is not clear how serious is this argument. Prior to this case, Kocaman did state he was happy at the team so it is unlikely this could provide a big affect. Meanwhile, in view of Fenerbahce Kocaman could be great choice due of his respect at the team with players, administrators and supporters and fact that he has worked with the team before hand and also advantage of him being Turkish head coach.

Both teams meanwhile would meet against each other on 17th March during Super League 25th week and some interesting statements could be made following the game regarding of this rumours between sides.

Besiktas will have transfer negotiations with Sunderland about Jeremain Lens on 17th March.

There is been strong rumours at the Turkish media about Besiktas showing a big interest towards Sunderland player Jeremain Lens, who is currently a playing a very successful loan period at the Fenerbahce.

According to rumours, Besiktas has also made an agreement to have direct negotiations with Sunderland on 17th March. However, it is known that Jeremain Lens really wants to stay at the Fenerbahce and has no intentions to play at any other club in Turkey. It is reported that following this possible meeting, Fenerbahce does consider to have talks with Sunderland with possibility of making an agreement to transfer or more likely to loan him again, with offering in return for 1-year loan its player Salih Ucan. Taking account as been stated Lens wants to stay, this factor would play an important role as Sunderland would certainly consider this point. As it is known, Jeremain Lens has shown great character to the team and in many occassions has been only one to give fight during games.

Besiktas of course can use its chance for Jeremain Lens but with looking into circumstances the chances seem to be low for him to join Fenerbahce rivals.
