What happened in Turkish football today? 07/06/2022

Turkey got dominated win against Lithuania

Turkish National Team has got very confident win against Lithuania during Nations League League C 2nd week game with 6:0 scoreline hence showing that this division in the tournament is not in their level as was expected to be by many.

It needs to be stated that Turkey has provided much more dominant game compare to Faroe Islands game without doubt which could be seen both from scoreline and also taking account that Lithuania is being much difficult opponent which could be seen also from performance despite of the fact that it did show some positive game on 2nd part of the 1st half. Without doubt, 2 early goals which did come from Dogukan Sinik did play an important factor for such result and performance against Lithuania, as it didnt manage to do so against Faroe Islands some days ago. Stating that most important factor which been observed here is that Turkey did much more organised game compare to previous games against weaker sides which does show that Stefan Kuntz did bring German focus and organisation did play an important role in those games.

Lithuania on their part didnt provide much issues to the Turkey apart possibility of 2nd part of the 1st half where it did provide some pressure to Turkish goal but still didnt provide pressure to provide scare to defence. Lithuania so far lost two games in this group with conceding in total of 8 goals and hence it would have difficult campaign.

Turkey did get an important scoreline without doubt and now would look forward for game on 11th June against Luxembourg which so far looks to be main competitor to get back to League B, even through Turkey will be still main favourite.

Club's union is uncertain about Mehmet Buyukeksi

Club's Union CEO Ahmet Agaoglu has stated that union would be waiting until 10th June which is being deadline for TFF CEO candidacy announcement as it doesnt feel secure with Mehmet Buyukeksi candidacy.

Club's Union prior to TFF election on 16th June has decided to meet with TFF CEO candidates to discuss about future of Turkish football and what plans does following candidate. It needs to be mentioned that they are talks that Buyukeksi does have some connection with FETO organisation wgucg dies rause some uncertainty from number of club CEO, especially Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc. Therefore, union has decided to wait until 10th June where there is expectation that some other candidates would be announced after which it would meet with potential candidates and make decision who to support on 16th June.

Turkish football is going through difficult periods and most people naturally see this election very crucial and hence want to make decision rightly for football.

Antalyaspor signs Alperen Uysal for 2+1 years.

Antalyaspor has transferred Istanbulspor goalkeeper Alperen Uysal who has shown strong and key  performance during 1st league season and play-off games and played crucial role for his ex-club to be promoted.

With strong ending of previous season, without doubt Antalyaspor are currently building side to continue this level of game for upcoming season and possibly fight for European spot. With having great goalkeeper Boffin in its disposal, Antalyaspor without doubt has transferred important substitute who could help side to have very good season as he did to Istanbulspor on previous season.

This transfer meanwhile does show that club likely to build competitive side for next season with additions during summer transfer window.
