What happened in Turkish football today? 19/06/2022

Galatasaray likely to appoint Okan Buruk on 20th June.

Reports that Galatasaray has made deal with Okan Buruk for head coach appointmentment started coming out even more louder as there are reports that club would announce it on 20th June.

When Dursun Ozbek has been appointed as club's CEO, it was known that he was mainly focussed to appoint foreign coach but Okan Buruk has been number one candidate for this position. With foreign coaches requesting high amount of salaries and transfer conditions, it did make financially difficult to appoint foreign one and also could be risky due of adaptatition. With Okan Buruk being close to this team and also having some successful results among one league title does put him ready and favourite for this position. Okan Buruk has all potential to be successful in the club and could be ready to coach one of the top teams in country.

Hence, it is expected for his name to be announced as soon as Domenec Torrent contract would be terminated.

Besiktas and Fenerbahce are interested to transfer Anthony Nwakaeme.

It is reported that both Fenerbahce and Besiktas are interested to transfer Anthony Nwakaeme as player wants to stay in the Turkey.

With having strong connection with Trabzonspor but due of not making deal between sides, it is reported that Istanbul giants are showing strong interest with appointing player with Besiktas arleady offering 2 million euro as it would be interesting to see how Nwakaeme would respond to such offer as he declined 3 million euro offer from Trabzonspor. Fenerbahce are reported to be planning to provide even higher salary. Hence, it does look like fight for Anthony Nwakaeme could be pretty active between this two clubs.

As always, our site would continue focussing into this storyline and report future of Nwakaeme in this summer.

Artem Dzyuba wants to join Fenerbahce.

Reports that Artem Dzyuba joining Fenerbahce is getting stronger and stronger, as both parties are continuing negotiations.

It is known that Artem Dzyuba has left Zenit and currently looking for club outside of his country and looking warm to be joining Turkish club in this summer with continuing negotiations with Fenerbahce. Only issue here seems to be value of salary as both sides trying to find deal which would be satisfied by both sides. There is also possibility of Dzyuba considering to leave his previous club and country due of ongoing war with Ukraine, as he did show signs of being against Russian invasion with no war statement. In either case, it does look like for now Dzyuba considers to join Fenerbahce.

As always our blog would continue following this story during this summer.
