What happened in Turkish football today? 02/06/2022

Jorge Jesus has signed contract with Fenerbace for 1-year.

Fenerbahce has signed Jorge Jesus for 1-year with 3 million euro with signing press conference to be taking place on 3rd June as Jesus has stated that his main priority would be to win Super League title.

Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc has been detirmined to call highly experienced head coach for next season regardless into great performance of Ismail Kartal who to some extend has been reason why Jesus did join side as he did have condition that side needs to get Champions League spot. Jorge Jesus as it is known is highly experienced coach with high amount of titles but as it is known Turkish league is being unique one, and Jesus as everyone could have some difficulties into new league, and it is unclear how much patience would be given by club and supporters towards him.

There was same amount of joy and surprise at club when Mesut Ozil has joined side and we all know how this ended. Now many supporters will hope same wouldnt happen.

Eperaunu has extended contract with Basaksehirspor for 2-years.

Basaksehirspor has extended contract with its player Alexandru Epureanu for 2-years as his contract has been ended in previous season as he did play an important role for high performance in recent seasons.

If Basaksehirspor did win title 2 years ago and also generally did show good performance in recent seasons, then among main reasons has been strong defensive game from Alexandru Eperaunu and hence it should not be seen surprising that his side did extend contract with him. It is been also known that Epureanu has been happy in this team all the time and it is highly expected that negotiations between sides didnt take a long time at all. Without doubt, being used to the team and league Alexandru Eperaunu would continue top performance at defence for club again.

Basaksehirspor possibly did extend with most crucial player whose contract has been ended in previous season and could feel calmer regarding its defensive position on field again.

Sinan Bolat moves to Westerlo

Sinan Bolat has stayed once again in Belgium as he has been transferred from Gent to Westerlo today, as he did spend his recent years in this league  and did perform some good performance down there.

Without doubt, Sinan Bolat is being used both in Belgium and also do they league, so it has been good decision for him to stay in the Belgium for next season while Westerlo without doubt did get one of the strongest goalkeepers at Belgian league. Therefore, this has been win-win move for both sides. Meanwhile, this also closes all rumours regarding of him joining Fenerbahce as 2nd goalkeeper, position which team is still looking very likely.

This been important transfer move for Sinan Bolat as he would continued in league which he is comfortable at.
