What happened in Turkish football today? 31/05/2022

Ankaragucu are back to Super League after 1-year absence.

We are concluding our blog series regarding of the previous season with two teams which has been promoted to Super League starting with Ankaragucu which is being back to the Super League after 1 season absence.

2021-22 Super League has been played with one club from capital city of Turkey and hence its been also important for Ankaragucu to be promoted both for the side and whole Turkish football. It needs to be mentioned that Ankaragucu did show good bouncing back from previous season fail and did provide strong game on 1st league and for sure would be now focussing to make side for next season in summer which would be able to stay in top league at least. There is strong belief of capacity of the site and with good supporters, it would need to only focus to manage side successfully.

Ankaragucu hence is strong side with good history and deserves to be on the top division for sure.

Umraniyespor finally got to Super League.

Umraniyespor has been promoted to Super League for 1st time in its season but its need to be mentioned that its been close on previous season but always lost on play-off rounds. This time they got ticket with play-off round.

Umraniyespor has been one of the strong sides at the 1st league for long time now, but did lose game when it matters but it did show strong all-round performance during this season and got ticket with few weeks before end of the season. Stating that it does need to make squad stronger for Super League if it wants to stay on the league without of course forgetting its finacial aspect. Umraniyespor meanwhile is being another club from Istanbul as we would see Istanbul dominance in upcoming season for sure.

Now all focus would be given to 1st league play-off round which would take place on 2nd June as Bandirmaspor and Istanbulspor would fight for 3rd promoted place. 

Konyaspor has made deal with Ahmet Oguz

Konyaspor has made transfer deal with Sivasspor player Ahmet Oguz as club's CEO Fatih Ozgokcen has stated to press.

Ahmet Oguz has shown strong and key role in his previous club for some years and did play an important role with sides getting some good results in previous seasons including winning Turkish Cup. Taking account that Konyaspor does have some high aims which includes aiming to top spot in next season and good results at the Conference League, this would be seen as strong domestic transfer which would strength Konyaspor. With strong experience from Ahmet Oguz it would be expected for him to transfer this knowledge to his new club.

Konyaspor has made an important deal but it is clear it needs to make strong and competitive side due of its aims it has.

- Konyaspor has ended contacts with Marin Anicic, Ahmet Hassan, Musa Cagiran, Eray Birnican, Erten Ersu and Alberk Koc.

- Sivasspor has terminated contract with Ahmet Oguz.

- Fenerbahce player Nazim Sangare had an operation in  Innsburg, Austria due of his injury.

- JorgeJesus is expected to arrive to Istanbul at midnight on 31st May-1st June connected night for one-on-one transfer negotiations with Fenerbahce.

- Sivasspor head coach Riza Calimbay: 1st negotiation with club didnt make deal for extension. We would have another meeting.

- Fenerbahce has made transfer deal with Gent player Sinan Bolat.
