Trabzonspor did become different side after Avci appointment.
Our blog continues to discuss about performance of clubs which got European spots at the end of the season and also sides which been relegated starting into how Trabzonspor did perform during this season.
It needs to be noted that Trabzonspor season should be divided without doubt into before and after Eddie Newton or in other words before/after Abdullah Avci as there been without doubt 2 different sides during whole season. Eddie Newton needs to be noted is not as bad coach as Turkish media but it needs to be noted that he is not being very familiar with Super League and didnt get squad which would been very competitive. With having some wrong tactical factors did put them pretty far from title race in the beginning of the season. Slightly late, Trabzonspor didnt sack and did bring Abdullah Avci who did start with 1 goal difference winning streak pushing side further up to the title race but with Avci Trabzonspor did only manage to get win from Besiktas from sides above them and as it got futher from title race morale of players and it starting having back-to-back draws. Still Avci did get some good game from his side in such conditions.
Trabzonspor did have not very competitive squad but it did not losing performance and does provide some hope for next season with some good transfers in summer.
Sivasspor did have longest not losing streak at the league.
Sivasspor without doubt has been one of the most unluckiest side which been highly affected from Covid19 period as it couldnt come with full squad with having some virus caseses among injuries.
This poor start did provide them some issues both in Super League and Europa League but still tried to show its best game and even through didnt get much points did have some games which could be seen as pretty successful and strong. However, when it did found with its ideal squad it started incredible not losing streak of 19 games which been longest in this season by any side with ending season at 5th spot and thanks to Besiktas winning Turkish Cup getting Conference League qualifier spot. Sivasspor head coach Riza Calimbay did mention that if side didnt have those issues it would be fighting for title, and it needs to be noted he is being pretty correct about this.
Sivasspor does have quality side and would now be focussed to strengthen it with likely having higher aims for next season.
Erzurumspor didnt fulfill its expectations.
List of sides which been relegated from Super League would be by Erzurumspor which didnt provide performance which would been expected from them.
It needs to be reminded that 3 years ago side has been promoted to Super League, been relegated and then promoted again with being relegated once again and sadly for them does provide view of elevator side. It needs to be noted that some players in the side, possibly due of possible delay payments didnt show very good performance which did lead them to be relegated in the end. This lack of self-belief from players without doubt did have some negative impact into the side which did lead them to be relegated and only player which we could see next season in top league Emrah Bassan who did show some good performance not only for side but in league too.
Erzurumspor would need to go through why it been relegated and now would need to focus how to bring back to league and if achieved make them stay for longer period.
