What happened in Turkish football today? 17/03/2020

TFF administration is acting very amateurish.

Turkish Football Federation CEO Nihat Ozdemir following UEFA meeting which has postponed Euro 2020 ot next year has announced that league would continue without supporters until end of April, which surely would get lots of criticism.

With high amount of clubs, with Galatasaray showing it most openly has demanded for league to be postponed, TFF continues taking its strong stance with going against general opinion in Turkey and also being only leaguesin Europe  who decided to continue league games until end of the season so far even through he did open possibility that changes could be taken place. It needs to be noted that in Turkey their are being 47 suspects, and even through whole Turkish society, especially Health Ministry in country, does provide strong and right decision with fighting against Covid-19 and also leagues to be postponed at handball, night clubs and restaurants being closed, TFF is showing stubborn and disrespectful decision. TFF is taking interesting stance with throwing decisions to Turkish government, which current actually right decision to fight against Covid-19, but TFF does have power solely to make decisions rather acting in inexperience and amateur failing to make criticial decisions in such dramatic times. Continuing league would provide lots of issues towards TFF with possibility of some players even get infected during games since its being contact sports.

TFF is unable to make clear decisions due of its amateurish actions, and does look to be unable to act rightly in such critical issues.

Its time for clubs to act

This decision without doubt could not be expected from TFF due of first of all campaign in whole Turkey with stay home and also whole Europe and provides useless danger to everyone involved at game day.

In fact, all clubs should provide strong reaction to this decision making it clear that their unhapy with such decision, as most are, and its being known that TFF in most interesting manner didnt discuss about this issue with clubs themselves at all and makes decisions themselves. This is being clear from highly discussed but right statements from Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim, Kayserispor head coach Bulent Korkmaz stating that noone talks to them and others. It needs to be noted that Bundesliga even through did plan to postpone this week, it also planned to play next week, but has recieved also high level of criticism from players and clubs which did play some role with games be postponed during weekend. Clubs needs to provide some actions and make realise what unacceptable TFF is making.

It does seem like in football community only TFF wants to continue league, throwing ball to government decision which by the way doesnt seem to case as government is doing good thing, and didnt prevent handball games to be cancelled. TFF is being immature and clubs need to act.

Playing with such conditions affects negatively to sides including Sivasspor.

Coming to the game which been played between Antalyaspor and Sivasspor its been one of the fast paced game during Super League 26th week even through affects of being without supporters did have direct impact to quality of game.

Sivasspor who is being fighting for league title and did get some advantage with other contenders losing 2 points, did provide high level of performance and lost game with 1:0 scoreline and didnt score 1 goal during this period. Without doubt playing without supporters and also worry of Covid-19 with players did show its impact to psychology of players which did lead such performance of team. Meanwhile, even through Tamer Tuna coach of Antalyaspor did state that this situation of Covid-19 did affect players and he been focussed to lead players to show high level performance which he managed to do so. Meanwhile, Tuna also made it clear that postponing league would be right decision to be made who wanted to postpone league as it would been done most right decision which TFF as been seen didnt listen to. It does look therefore with players having so much issues to focus on game, we would have very strange league until end of the season.

Without disrespecting some results, it needs to be noted that this week results would been different played with different storylines and outcomes as it been week with lowest amount of goals and quality this season for clear reason.
