What happened in Turkish football today? 14/03/2020

Fenerbahce has ended this season mentally.

Fenerbahce continues with providing very poor performance as it did lose to opponent which didnt win for very long time with 1:0 scoreline with taking account that it has played with 2 extra men while Konyaspor without doubt did get very important crucial win to save this season.

Fenerbahce continues with showing huge decline with its performances right now as it did has failed to show any organised performance during whole game even failing to get upper hand with having 2 extra men during last minutes even through scoreline did allow Fenerbahce to turn around game. Fenerbahce has failed to win for 7 games back to back, and without doubt is being one of the clubs which would like to end this season as it is getting worser and worser with having lack of providing any strong performance. Without having actual head coach, it does look like Fenerbahce doesnt have any physical preparation and doesnt give any effort during games and mentally did end game with Fenerbahce most surprising result is that it didnt get any shots on target including during last 20 minutes. Therefore, it does look like Fenerbahce does come out for formalities without having any focus and performance, and with this performance would be side which would provide scoreline to its opponent. If it doesnt want to carry like that it would need to provide some crucial changs right now.

Konyaspor meanwhile who didnt win for high number of weeks and is being side which every team did provide strong concentration towards game providing high focus and focussed into defence in right way with being with 9 men.

Fenerbahce is being at huge crises and does need to get themselves or it would end this season without any win and there is still 9 games to be played.

Both sides would be coming to win in game which would decide leader in the league.

With worldwide focussing into Covid-19 outbreak which has also direct impact on world, in Turkey at least for this weekend we need to treat games as life still carries on normally with two very important games having direct impact for title race.

Even through high interest due of status is being given to derby game between Galatasaray and Besiktas, due of historical rival it could be stated quite naturally that Trabzonspor and Basaksehirspor, game which would be played with both sides being at top 2 spots win of this game would provide strong help for its aim in the end of the season, assuming that season would be completed this season. It needs to be noted that both sides did play also midweek with Trabzonspor winning Yeni Malatyaspor with 3:1 scoreline while Basaksehirspor has won against Copenhagen with 1:0 scoreline which would mean both sides would be coming to this game with high level of morale which would be expected to have positve impact at the end of the game. Basaksehirspor might also use games to be played without supporters into its own advantage as it more used to this condition right now, but this blog will not discuss much about this factor as most Turkish media outlets since it does get away for specific reason for this decision.

Its hard to call specific favourite for the favourite for this specific game with both sides would give their best to get 3 points in this important game.

Besiktas would be coming to game which it needs to win.

Even through as been noted Trabzonspor and Basaksehirspor when looking at table is even more important, derby game between Galatasaray against Besiktas gets more attention simple due of being derby game.

Galatasaray due of performance and general level of motivation would be coming to the game as favourites and it would be aiming to show that level of game despite of being played in empty stadiums. Still, it needs to be noted that Besiktas would be coming at game which it needs to win if it wants to keep its chances for league title as losing this game would mean it would get 10 points behind league leaders so it would likely would give it all and it needs to be admitted that loss from Galatasaray is being problematic for them, Besiktas is having even more risk and hence it would be showing such performance which could mean Galatasaray would likely give very important part of its game towards defence and more would need to balance both attack and defence, as its more likely to found some gaps from Besiktas defence for sure as we would be seeing some nervous but highly interested game even if their would not be any fans during game.

Galatasaray hence would be coming as favourites to game but it is game which Besiktas needs to risk which would provide some additional motivation as game would develop for sure.
