What happened in Turkish football today? 11/03/2020

Trabzonspor has got crucial win against Yeni Malatyspor.

Trabzonspor has managed to get win of postponed 19th week game against Yeni Malatyaspor with 3:1 scoreline and has regained leadership on the league prior to crucial Basaksehirspor game on 15th March.

It could be noted that Trabzonspor did manage to get this important win against struggling opponent without having too much issue and in fact didnt provide very high tempo during game which it needs to be noted has been enough for them due of performamce of their opponents. It needs to be noted that even through tempo hasnt been very high, it did provide high concentration to the game always controlling game and showed right reaction in 2nd half after it has conceded prior to halftime. Trabzonspor player Sosa goal from free-kick without doubt been best goal of the game providing kick right into direction which didnt provide much chance to goalkeeper due of its power its been given. With good win Trabzonspor would be only dissapointed with possible injury of Alexandr Sorloth whose condition would become clear following MR checkup where whole side would be hoping that it will not be serious as it would lose one of its main prior to possibly most important of the season.

In all fairness, Yeni Malatyaspor did provide its best performance which is due of their poor condition as side their are right now and this without doubt did have some negative outcome during their performance today also.

Trabzonspor did get very important win getting back into leadership and could now entirely focus into one of the most important of the season against Basaksehirspor.

Basaksehirspor feel confident prior to Copenhagen game.

Basaksehirspor would be getting back to Europa League with last 16 1st leg game against Danish side Copenhagen with aiming to get advantage scoreline from this game and continue its historical performance in the tournament.

Without doubt Basaksehirspor is showing very strong performance both in the league and Europa League writing history and to all respect to Copenhagen, it did get one of the bst opponents in this stage at this stage especially when it had passed Sporting Lisbon. Stating that,it needs to be remind old cliche that their are no easy clubs in this stage but in same time its not being one of the favourites of tournament. In all fairness, it could be noted that both sides are in similar strength and it would be playing role who would be most ready for game both mentally and psychologically and hence performance would be playing direct role with performances. Copenhagen stating that would be expected to provide strong performance and it would be important to provide as much prevention it can to opponents so it can take scoreline which would be helpful to them for 2nd leg.

Basaksehirspor with recent performances would be coming to game with high motivation and confidence and it would be important for them to transfer those aspects to strong performance.

Covid-19 is unlikely to affect towards football games in Turkey

With first Covid-19 case has been announced in Turkey late on 10th March, there was high number of talks what kind of precautions would be taken against it including and what keeps is interested of fate of Super League.

Youth and Sports minister Muharrem Kasapoglu that situation in country is currently not at any condition to have direct affect into Super Leagues and postponing league or provide limit for supporters coming to game is not needed through. Stating that this seems to be case in time of writing however if situation in country, hopefully not, would get worser some more direct precautions and might lead to some players to be played without supporters but once again condition of this is being very low. It needs to be noted that condition in Turkey could also provide some issues for Basaksehirspor if it stays at Europa League and Champions League final taking place in Istanbul on May could be raised or played with limited supporters but for now this scenario looks to be unlucky. Therefore, condition looks to be stable in Turkey and our page would follow how Covid-19 will affect to football for Turkish football.

For now, as been noted, Covid-19 doesnt have direct impact to Turkish football and with weather getting warmer chance of it having is being low.
