What happened in Turkish football today? 08/11/2019
Fenerbahce has won against highly focussed Kasimpasa
Turkish Super League 11th week has started with pretty exciting and high tempo game played between Fenerbahce and Kasimpasa, where Istanbul giant has won with 3:2 scoreline at the game where opponent has drawn game twice.
It needs to be stated that game did start with high tempo from Fenerbahce with providing pressure to Kasimpasa which did lead for penalty which been converted by Vedat Muriqi but as game been progressed Kasimpasa went into the game and in some occassions upper hand including when it had one less man as it even made scoreline to 2:2 when game has been played 11-to-10. Stating that even through it wasnt particularly easy win Fenerbahce did provide high tempo game with controlling and creating but it was observed that it didnt have much control of midfield which allowed an opponent to create many chances. Still, it needs to be stated that Fenerbahce especially taking account that Kasimpasa provided good opposition to Fenerbahce and still not providing great performance on the day, it still provided right focus to the game and it was clear that Fenerbahce came out for a win. Meanwhile, with Vedat Muriqi scoring 2 penalties has become key player with finding 2 goals 1st time in one game since joining side.
Kasimpasa as been mentioned did provide good and organised performance even after being playing one less men providing good performance until Fenerbahce got red card. Kasimpasa did lose but coach Kemal Ozdes likely to be glad with team performance.
Fenerbahce with this results did get leadership in the league for at least 22 hours with providing good spirit as did their opponents for this game.
Basaksehirspor win helped whole Turkish football
Basaksehirspor carries on providing memorable high level performance at the Europa League with beating Wolfsberger 2nd time in this group stage this time with 3:0 scoreline and hence has got high amount of positive impact for itself and whole Turkish football.
Foremost, it is crucial to state success which this result has provided to Basaksehirspor as with this win it has raised its chances for knockout stages with 2 point advantage and currently being leaders and this outcome does provide possibility that 1 game could be enough for knockout stages possibly. It also raised self-confidence and prestige around Europe. In addition, in moment when Turkish coefficient in UEFA competitions is going down and could lead to losing direct entry to Champions League, Basaksehirspor has got important points for whole nation and also gathered points from Austria which are among nations which does provide that fear to Turkey. Therefore, this win has been important to Basaksehirspor and whole nation and it does need to focus now to get to the knockout stages which it has advantage of. With such poor performance of other Turkish clubs, it does look good news does come from unexpected source.
Basaksehirspor does have difficult game against Roma and it wont be easy at all but it would come out with strong self-confidence to game.
Trabzonspor is not ready yet for European football
Trabzonspor following loss to Krasnodar at Europa League in Russia has lost chances to get to the knockout stages as it played mainly with younger players due of some injuries and also Unal Karaman wanted to provide experience to players.
It could be criticised decision to provide youth players to be selected at the game when Trabzonspor even small could have for knockout stages but for this young players this has been good experience. Now, with Trabzonspor surely being relegated from tournament and would come to 2 last games as formaliites, it would allow him to be more focussed into Super League and hence likely would provide more playing time to its young players who would be aiming to show some good performance for rest of the Europe and also get into eye for future games for Unal Karaman. Stating that main fault for Trabzonspor, even through understandbly, was to provide more focus to domestic league rather then to Europe which led them to get such poor performance in tournament.
Trabzonspor did provide some good performances occassionally in competition, but overall it could be stated that team is not ready for Europa League.
