Galatasaray has scored its 1st goal in this campaign but it wasnt enough to win.
Galatasaray has kept its chances low to enjoy European spring after it has drawn against Club Brugge as game has ended with 1:1 draw at the game which has been player at high tempo with both sides providing strong open game against each other.
Galatasaray did start game in pretty high tempo with providing confident performance and did found what could be seen as an early goal with Adem Buyuk with providing strong control of the game especially during 2nd half. It needs to be admitted that side did provide its best performance during this season and did find actually find its 1st goal during this Champions League and could have even more but it should be noted that Club Brugge did provide strong opposition towards and did also provide strong concentration to get confident score. This performance still did raise questions why Galatasaray didnt provide this level performance in previous games during this season, but in same time this performance could provide some confidence for upcoming games. This result does keep Galatasaray with some chances for Europa League but it needs to win PSG in last game and wait Real Madrid to win Club Brugge.
Club Brugge to some extend didnt provide its best game but still has shown good opposition to Galatasaray keeping scoreline as 1:0 for most amount of time and did find equaliser with providing strong pressure and got good advantage for Europa League spot.
Galatasaray even through for poor performance did get 1 point and keep its chances for Europa League spot but its being slim for sure.
Halis Ozkahya will not referee APOEL game at Europa League.
Turkish referee Halis Ozkahya who has been appointment to Europa League game between APOEL and Dudelange has been taken away from that post following complaint and request send from Cypriot Football Association to change referee.
As it is known, due of political crises between Turkish Cypriots and Cypriots, island has been divided into two parts where Turkish and Greek Cypriort are leaving seperately due of ongoing political condition and does have very unstable political connection with each other. Cypriot Football Association has requested for change of referee due of this condition focussing more into negative atmosphere which could be raised at the stadium due of this appointment rather fairness which could be shown from Halis Ozkahya. Even through Turkish media, which partly can be right, could see this controversial development and sign of UEFA once again taken stance against Turkey, it needs to be noted that if Halis Ozkahya did referee game it could raise some needless tension between fans and referee team.
Therefore, our blog would argue that it has been right decision from UEFA as it did prevent some possible raise of tension which could be raised during game.
Besiktas has made principal deal with Emre Kilinc transfer.
