What happened in Turkish football today? 07/11/2019

Basaksehirspor carries on writing history at Europa League as their leaders at group.

Basaksehirspor has got very important win against Wolfsberger during Europa League 4th week game and carries on being much successful Turkish club in surprising manner in European competition, and also made an important step for knockout stages as it became leader.

Basaksehirspor did start game in very positive manner controlling ball and now allowing Wolfsberger to show any control of the game but as game has been progressed it was slowly into game in the middle with opponent getting upper hand. But thing has changed to Basaksehirspor during 2nd half when side got penalty kick with Edin Visca converting that goal and also red card with opponent. Following 1:0, Basaksehirspor started showing much more confident performance controlling ball much more and looking for chances back-to-back which were converted with Crivelli. Therefore, it could be stated that Basaksehirspor carries on providing really impressive performance in Europa League and writes history with being leaders in the group which includes Roma with 2 weeks left until end of the group stage. In the season, where other Turkish clubs have trouble at Europe, Basaksehirspor especially against Wolfsberger is showing great performance.

With Wolfsberger being praised being providing great performance at this competition, it didnt manage to stop, thankfully for followers of Turkish football,  Basaksehirspor but still has also chances for knockout stages right now in group.

Basaksehirspor has got strong advantage and now it needs to look to write history for upcoming 2 games without doubt.

Trabzonspor has been relegated from Europa League losing to Krasnodar

Trabzonspor has been relegated from Europa League with 2 weeks left until end of the group stage as it has lost Krasnodar with 3:1 scoreline as Russian side didnt provide any effective performance.

It needs to be noted that Trabzonspor head coach in pretty interesting manner in such critical game did provide chances for younger players to get experienced with European football and possibly didnt expect himself to win game. It needs to be stated that Krasnodar did start game in pretty attacking manner which could be due of the factor that it needed to win game to keep its chances arrive for knockout stages into more chances than Trabzonspor which did come out only with 1 point and didnt provide very effective game so far. It needs to be admitted that Trabzonspor did provide some positive performance looking for chances and aim to show good performance but still it has lacked an attacking performance which was used from Trabzonspor to be providing at the league. In fact, it has been that clear once again decline which Turkish clubs are having right now and the factor which does provide some worrying images during this season.

As been mentioned, Krasnodar did come out with more chances to get to the knockout stages compare to Trabzonspor which would lead them to provide much more attacking game which their did and has been one who has scored and created chances.

Trabzonspor has been relegated from Europa League for certain and now would need to focus to provide some positive performance in last 2 games and continue to provide chances for younger players.

Besiktas are out from Europa League with 2 games left.

Besiktas has lost to group leaders Braga with 3:1 scoreline and has lost any chances to get to the knockout stages with being team with 0 points in the group and would need to set an aim to get win at least in last 2 games.

It was expected that Besiktas would have trouble during Braga which are having so far very good campaign in the tournament, with Besiktas not showing good performance. Even through their were some positive aspects from Besiktas during game, it needs to be noted that Braga has been side which has shown control of the game. There needs to be stated also has been debatable red card of Jeremain Lens which has been to seen too rush and that without doubt has led game into much difficult control of the game and helped Braga to get full control of the 2nd half and get also goal. Certainly with Abdullah Avci not being in Portugal due of gribal infection did lead for team to get bad result even through it is hard to comment that team would provide better game with him being on side. Besiktas did have very bad campaign this season tournament and need to go through why it has performed so badly.

Braga did come out to games as leaders in group and their have performed in such manner controlling game and getting deserved win with almost making sure for knockout stage.

Besiktas has been relegated with 2 games left in group and now would need to aim for at least 1 win in this group.
