What happened in Turkish football today? 05/11/2019

Galatasaray would be coming to tough game against Real Madrid.

Galatasaray would be returning to Champions League with one of most difficult games in this campaign as it would be meeting against Real Madrid away in the game it needs to win if it wants to get to knockout stages.

This game without doubt would be difficult one for Galatasaray as Real Madrid would be providing much more confident performance compare to previous games which includes feeling much less pressure compare to game in Istanbul and also strong advantage playing at home ground. Galatasaray on their hand would be aiming to play their similar performance at least which their shown in Istanbul but even that could not be enough for team to get desired win. Real Madrid on their own hand would be coming out for focus to win game without doubt and hence Galatasaray on their own hand need to provide full focus to game and showing respect to opponent but not too much as it would lead heavily focussed. Key of course here would be belief and that to be transformed into team performance to get surprising result.

Quite naturally Real Madrid would be coming as favourites to the game and Galatasaray need to treat game in that manner.

Mehmet Sepil has been elected as Club's Union new CEO.

Goztepe CEO Mehmet Sepil, following automatic resignation of Besiktas ex-CEO Fikret Orman from Club's Union CEO, position has been selected as Union new CEO following an election.

With Mehmet Sepil being single candidate in this organisation, which represents interests of all clubs at the Super League and includes all CEO of clubs in the union has been went through new beginning. It is known that Sepil did recieve high amount of support for such position which could also be shown with him running as single candidate which does show uniliteral agreement at the union. With issues regarding referees, foreign players limit, finances which seems to be issues related directly to clubs Sepil would have difficult and crucial representing general aims and ideas it would have for aims to move clubs ahead during this difficult time. With Sepil does provide good CEO period at Goztepe despite through club having poor results does still provide him as strong candidate and representative.

With Sepil been elected as union new CEO this could also lead for new begenning for union and Turkish football in general

Clubs Union has provided declaration criticising UEFA for army salute disciplinary action.

Club's Union during same meeting has also announced joined statement regarding of UEFA openning investigation for Basaksehirspor players, with Irfan Can Kahveci, criticising UEFA for taking double standarts.

Clubs Union in declaration states that UEFA did close eyes in previous cases when those events take places and didnt provide any fines and states this action has been done as sign of respect for anti - terrorism operation at Syria and has been practiced regularly in Turkish football. With this being at culture as been mentioned its been seen pretty unexpectable from clubs to provide such fine and decision quite naturally. This statement might not have direct impact into UEFA final decision but it does provide their stand. In fact at declaration it states that clubs would provide that salute whenever their score at European competitions. This blog does look in perspective that football should be kept out of politics, but again taking account that other players from other nations clubs didnt recieve fines for such action before, then it shouldnt also be given this time but again Turkish clubs need to make their argument clear without much political connotations.

Still it is important for Union to provide such stance towars this decision by UEFA.
