What happened in Turkish football today? 01/06/2018

Turkey has drawn against Tunisia during unexpected high tension friendly game

Turkish National Team has drawn against Tunisian National Team during international friendly game without providing a great game and has got goal during last minute from Cagaran. Turkey wasnt able to provide similar performance as it did during game against Iran on previous friendly game which led this game to end with 2:2 scoreline.

It is clear that many people has been accepted much better performance during Tunisian National Team especially taking account that Iran is expected to be stronger opponent but the team didnt provide similar attacking game even through their were some times when it did show some positive gamee. It needs to be stated that Tunisia of course had better focus for the game as it was preparing for World Cup 2018. Meanwhile, there was also some tensions during game between players and also during with fans especially with Cenk Tosun actions done towards Tunisian National Team which has raised needless actions between him and fans which led for red card. It is important for Turkey to keep its high tension below especially during friendly games, as those red cards especially friendly game is not acceptable. However, it is clear for Cenk Tosun to be aware of his actions even through of this needless tension which was created of the fans. Now, Turkey needs to take lessons from those game including during field and also outside of it and right now focus into its last friendly game against Russia.

Tunisian National Team did show also positive football game during game but also seems to be under pressure possibly from its own fans and also coming very close for World Cup 2018. Still getting draw against team like Turkey, regardless that its not World Cup, would provide positive motivation for actual tournament.

This friendly game has been played in totally unexpected high tension and this team needs to learn lessons from this game and also aim to be able to focus to game against Russia and also during upcoming games.

Al Wahdi has transferred Emre Colak for 3 years.

Al Wahdi has announced transfer of Deportivo La Coruna player Emre Colak for 2 years with 3 million euro which without doubt would be seen as surprising development as player was expecting to return to Turkish clubs.

With taking account that Emre Colak, despite of this season, did show good performance at Spanish side in previous years it could be seen as big surprising that player has now left to the Qatari club with taking account that he would not count as player who is close to end his career. Sadly, it does look like a decision which was based due of money as he would certainly have different tasks including fact that there were rumours that Besiktas are showing big interest with his transfer and hence makes this sudden decision even more unexpected. It does look to be good deal for Al Wahdi without doubt but it is hard to state same for Emre Colak but again taking account that this decision has been made in pretty fast manner it does show that there was some motivation for this move and it might become clear in upcoming days possibly.

Emre Colak who has shown as been stated good decision at La Liga in recent years has went into club where he might even be forgotten due of lack of interest to the league and might provide negative impact to his career.

Fenerbahce would have one of the most exciting CEO elections at its history.

Without doubt the main focus prior of the Turkish sports media is being into Fenerbahce CEO election which would be taking place on 3rd June where Aziz Yildirim and Ali Koc would be fighting for main position of the club.

This election campaign has been among hottest during recent history of the club with harsh statements has been provided by each candidate with also strong criticism towards opponents. Aziz Yildirim meanwhile has been stated that he is sole aim for running for candidacy is to provide closure for match-fixing scandal which club had and fight for their rights and when being acquitted by court open compensation cases against each body. Yildirim also states that as he is being one directly involved with those issue, he would be also one who should be involved directly to solve those issue. Meanwhile, as Ali Koc identifies that this issue without doubt is very important for team, he states that club financially is in very bad condition and hence he is aim would be to solve this issue as he becomes CEO with providing hot cash. During this campaign there is been big arguments with Ali Koc also stating that number of Fenerbahce administrators has stated that Koc is member of FETO who has organised attempted coup in Turkey 2 years ago and also this match-fixing case. Without doubt hence this election would be very exciting with fans seem to be supporting Ali Koc while Aziz Yildirim has high number of members at club supporting him but still it would be big fight and it does look like that all votes would be important as it also expected to be high turnout as election will take place at stadium.

Fenerbahce CEO candidate Ali Koc does have momentum in his hands but again it is hard to state who would win this election as winner might even be announced at late evening on 3rd June.
