What happened in Turkish football today? 18/06/2018

Aykut Kocaman contract with Fenerbahce has been ended.

Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc has announced with personal message that the club has ended contract with Aykut Kocaman as has been expected which does show open chance for announcement of Phillip Cocu at upcoming days.

It is been known that both Ali Koc and Aykut Kocaman had talks about future of the club with Damien Comolli also joining those meetings. Even through talks has been reported to be productive and all sides has been satisfied with how it developed it was clear that Aykut Kocaman days at the club has been numbered. Damien Comolli did identify that Aykut Kocaman would be only option for them as head coach among Turkish candidates, but even through this statement could be seen as compliment, it did provide sign that team has negotiations with foreign coaches, and as it became clear later directly with Phillip Cocu. Now, retrospectively it needs to be stated that Aykut Kocaman did end last season at 2nd place and has ended season at high note but his style of play which is focus to defence has let him cost his place at the end and Ali Koc even through having good connection with Kocaman didnt have much choice to end contract with Kocaman with different focus it has for next season.

With Aykut Kocaman leaving his post could also seen as sign that PSV Eindhoven coach Philip Cocu would be announced very soon as new head coach.

Sivasspor has transferred Erdogan Yesilyurt for 2 years.

Transfer agreements are starting coming up slowly during this summer transfer window as Sivasspor has transferred Altinordu player Erdogan Yesilyurt for 2 years and are focussing without doubt to make their squad stronger for upcoming season.

It needs to be stated that Altinordu, which is been looked as factory of future stars at the Turkey in recent years, would be able to sell some players into Super League squads during this summer transfer window as Sivasspor has promised one of the future promises. The team as been implied would be looking to make pretty competitive team and Erdogan Yesilyurt is in strength to provide that team with also focussing into younger players which seems to be one of the trends as clubs are focussing to reduce average age with also younger Turkish players, which if done rightly would be right movements for the future of the Turkish football without doubt. Erdogan Yesilyurt would in return recieve an opportunity to show great performance and get an eye around Turkey with his performance.

Sivasspor has started its plans for next season with great potential transfer and would aim to build on that as we are still on early days of summer transfer window.

Erzurumspor has made transfer deal with Arnason

Super League new side Erzurumspor has managed to get an impressive transfer deal with Vikingur Reikjavik and Icelandic National Team player Arnason who has shown great performance during World Cup game against Argentina.

Erzurumspor which has been appointed this season through 1st league play-off games would need to do much tasks to become squad at the Super League as their squad to some extend is not strong enough for top league and it does look like the team is aware of that. With looking with best players it can purchase with its finances it is showing an interest towards Vikingur Reikjavik player Arnason who has shown great performance at World Cup game against Argentina defending against Lionel Messi. Without doubt for this team defence would be very important and if their will be not last minute changes this transfer can move forward this side into much newer level compare to their arleady strength.

Therefore, this transfer rumour if would come true would provide very important strength at the back for next season for Erzurumspor especially with their aim to stay at the league for debut season.
