World Cup 2018 would affect Turkish football even if national team not participating.

Biggest tournament of footballing world would be starting in Russia as 32 teams around world would be competing to be named best team of the World Cup 2018. Sadly, Turkish National Team due of issues and mistakes which been discussed at our blog for last 2 years will not participate but their are many aspects which would be of interest for Turkish football fans.

Foremost, even through their would not be National Team at the tournament, best Turkish referee which has been actively approved both by UEFA and FIFA in those recent years referee Cuneyt Cakir would be refereeing starting from 15th June. Another factor which would have an interest for Turkish sports fans is to watch how players who are participating at Turkish teams such as Nabil Dirar and Youness Belhanda from Morocco, Fernando Muslera at Uruguay, Pepe and Ricardo Quaresma at Portugal among others would be participating including especially players which club would be seeking to sell during this summer transfer window as their would be expected for their price to raise especially with Kasimpasa hoping a high offers regarding of Trezeguet. It needs to be also reminded that also big interest would be given towards looking for new players as it does look like more transfers would be made following World Cup around world which would also include Turkey.

Cuneyt Cakir would referee World Cup game between Morocco and Iran.

Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir with his team would be starting their World Cup journey on 15th June as FIFA has announced that Cakir would be refereeing Group B game between Morocco and Iran.

Cuneyt Cakir for recent years despite of recieving high number of criticism in Turkey for his performance at the Super League especially during derby games has been highly trusted both by FIFA and UEFA during recent years as he has recieved high number of games at high level including Champions League. Therefore, there is expectation that Cuneyt Cakir even through migh not referee final game,can get as far as towards semi-final stage. Without doubt his performance during Morocco and Iran among other games would be very important to achieve this aim. To some extend this game could be seen not as crucial to referee but it can characterise whole character for rest of the games as it includes Portugal and Spain and could be crucial test. Another interesting aspect is the factor that Morocco includes high number of players from Super League. It is crucial for Cuneyt Cakir to show high level performance and get praise to keep such good performance and mood for rest of the tournament without doubt for Cakir.

Lets hope that this would only be good start for Cuneyt Cakir and he would only be praised with his performance at tournament in Russia.

Galatasaray has recieved 6 million euro fine and 21 players limitation for Champions League.

UEFA has announced fine to the Galatasaray regarding of FFP regulations which has been 6 million euro and also limitation of squad to the Champions League from 25 players to 21 for next season.

Taking account that in normal circumstances UEFA could have have provided much more harsher fine which is including ban from participating at UEFA competitions, it needs to be stated that current CEO Mustafa Cengiz has done great job with his defence making it clear that it would been too harsh to provide too much fine. Mustafa Cengiz for long time has been talking about providing trust and also giving signs that it can solve its financial issues and it seems to be worked towards UEFA even through organisation would also without doubt take look of how UEFA controlls its financial fair-player regulations in upcoming 4 years and can have potentiality to provide harsher fines in upcoming years.
