What happened in Turkish football today? 15.09.2017

Basaksehirspor has got valuable lessons from Ludogorets game.

Basaksehirspor has started its Europa League journey at group stage with goalless draw against Bulgarian side Ludogorets even through it did show pretty good performance during the game and this excitement of playing its first proper game at the tournament has affected them.

Prior to game, it was stated that even through Ludogorets in the sense of squad is not as strong as Basaksehirspor, their experience at the Europe for past seasons have played an important role regarding of outcome of the game as their had used this factor of controlling game and also has found an important chances. It needs to be stated that without losing game, Basaksehirspor did get an extra experience and lessons from this games and is likely to be playing more confidently in upcoming games, even through it is dissapointed to lose points against arguably weakest opponent their have. Looking at the performance once again, it does need to be stated that Basaksehirspor did show some positive aspects of the game as it was playing an attacking football looking for chances and showing again that it would have good season.

Basaksehirspor has experienced its 1st group stage game at Europa League and did gather as been stated valuable lesson which certainly would affect them both in Europe and at Super League.

Konyaspor are not in level to show successful performance at Europa League.

Konyaspor once again, as it did during last season Europa League competition, has shown that as the team its not strong enough to compete at this level of tournament and reasons for this is financial and quality.

Scoreline of 1:0 at the game should not treat its viewers that game between two sides has been played at similar levels as Olympique Marseille arguably has not been able to provide their best performance either. It does need to be mentioned that set mind of Konyaspor has been right and willing to win and even through it was playing mainly defensive football it did create number of chances. But as been mentioned at blog yesterday, Konyaspor could be above average good team at Super League which it has proven during last 2 seasons, but competing with European teams at the Europa League its not as same level, and it does run a risk at ending group stage with possibly only one win, and thats if their would be lucky. Of course, the expectation for Konyaspor are still not high as were last season, but you would expect them to improve from last season experience.

This blog would be wrong about low chances of Konyaspor but the performance of team doesnt provide optimistic view for rest of the 5 games at the group.

Galatasaray will play its hardest game of the season.

Galatasaray would be meeting against in-form team Kasimpasa at the Super League 5th week game and hence is likely to play its hardest game during this season regarding of recent performance of the teams. It does have an advantage of playing at home which it would certainly use it but it wont be as straight-forward game as previous ones at home.

Kasimpasa has started season at high note with being 3 points behind leaders Galatasaray and Besiktas and has arleady drawn against Besiktas during 2nd week. It is expected that Kasimpasa is likely to provide strong defensive football against Galatasaray, and even through league playing of a team is pretty strong it would need to provide some creative and patient football if it wants to create chances. Still, looking at quality of teams in sense of squad and experience Galatasaray are coming out as favourites, but certainly Kasimpasa player Trezeguet and Neumayr would provide some difficult time to Galatasaray defenders and goalkeeper Fernando Muslera so also defensive players might have hardest game so far at the season.

Galatasaray as mentioned are favourites but its not as straight forward as it seems with Kasimpasa would provide some difficult time to them.
