What happened in Turkish football today? 09.09.2017
Basaksehirspor didnt allow Fenerbahce for comeback with last minute goal from Frei.
Basaksehirspor has won Super League exciting 4th week game against Fenerbahce with 3:2 scoreline as it was winning at one point of the game with 2:0 scoreline and has almost lost points to its opponent who have shown great comeback.
Despite of losing against Basaksehirspor and not still providing great football, it needs to be stated still that Fenerbahce did show some improvement with attitude of the players and some willing to win the game. However, it needs to be stated that Fenerbahce did make high number of mistakes during passing the ball with high number of chances when players has lost ball to Basaksehirspor in unforced manner. This factor did show that team has some issues at tactically and not working as team. Stating that Fenerbahce did show fight at gaining ball into control which was mentioned high number of times by Aykut Kocaman during this season. Fenerbahce did show some positive aspects during game and has some good signs for future but its not enough. What is more worrying that Galatasaray manages to win the game tomorrow, point difference between them and leaders will be 7 points in early stage of season.
Basaksehirspor meanwhile has shown a great game and has shown itself to be a team which would be fighting for league title as it has managed to win game at the last minute with Kerim Frei winning 1st time in Kadikoy. If Basaksehirspor wants to fight for league title it does need to win big 4 teams, and its has just managed to do that today.
Fenerbahce gamewise did show some improvement but in same time it showed that it does still some serious issues as the team and losing points back-to-back would push them away from league title race way before winter.
Besiktas has won difficult away game against Karabukspor with 10 men.
Besiktas has managed to win Super League 4th week game against Karabukspor in pretty dramatic manner and certainly game has ended up being much more difficult and stressfull which was expected by many.
It needs to be mentioned that Besiktas has once again had issue of raising tempo during the game and with Karabukspor doing its best to reduce it with an organised defence without providing too much attacking football, it has led them not to create much chances. During 2nd half there was penalty position which was doubtful and has led with very poor shot by Oguzhan Ozyakup who have shot down over the goal. One of the main reason for such poor shot by Ozyakup in all fairness could be blamed to poor condition of the field. After few minutes Tosic has recieved 2nd yellow card and has left his teammates with 10 men. With Karabukspor keeping tempo as their wished it did look like Besiktas might not win the game. However, as things went against them and has made their tasks more difficult their managed to find goal from Ryan Babel after great assist from Oguzhan Ozyakup. Besiktas didnt provide a great game however its still managed to win game which would affect into morale for upcoming games.
Meanwhile, even through Karabukspor style of game didnt look eye-pleasing during game it did provide pretty good defensive football preventing Besiktas at finding great chances for most part of game. It did try to show an attacking football towards end of game but it was too late.
Besiktas did lose all its games to Karabukspor in Karabuk and hence this has been pretty difficult away fixture for them so it was important for them to win this game and look forward now to its 1st Champions League game against Porto on 13th September.
Galatasaray would aim to continue its 100% record against Antalyaspor.
Galatasaray would aim to carry on its 100% record at the Super League with among one of the most toughest games during this season Antalyaspor as the team carries on showing most pleasant and impressive performance so far at the league.
Galatasaray new transfers especially names like Bafetembi Gomis has shown a very good start during 1st 3 weeks and among winning all of the games has also dominated those games from start until the end. Stating that, Galatasaray is probably only team which didnt want to have national team break as it could effect their motivation for continuation of the league especially against Antalyaspor, including among risks of injuries from national games. However, it needs to be stated that high number of the players were not selected to the national team squads from Galatasaray. Antalyaspor meanwhile does have some internal issues including crises between Samuel Etoo and the club and also Samir Nasri is having injury right now, so therefore it will not have the best squad and morale for game tomorrow.
In overall, Galatasaray are coming out as favourites for the game but it would be pretty tough for them compare to 1st 3 games and it would need to provide more effort to win game and carry on its 100% record.
