What happened in Turkish football today? 08.02.2017

Both Besiktas and Fenerbahce play blame game following Turkish Cup game.

Turkish Cup last 16 game between Besiktas and Fenerbahce after 4 days still stays as the most talked subject at the Turkish sports media with the strong rumours about what was happening at the field and changing room between players are carry on to emerge.

According to the rumours, and its important to underline that all this are all rumours, has been informing that both sides has been swearing, threatening and in general providing anti-sportmanship actions to each other. For instance, Besiktas player Tolga Zengin, who was substituted at the game, has called Fenerbahce player match-fixers at the changing room. Among other rumours is that Fenerbahce player Robin van Persie has stated bad things about Dusco Tosic which led him to lose control after recieving red card. All of the rumours, if ofcourse are true, are now showing pretty picture during the game. Meanwhile, another factor is certainly both sides are awaiting for decisions by Professional Football Discplinary Committee which would be announced tomorrow unless there is unexpected delay regarding of decision. Fenerbahce arleady stated that it considers to open criminal case towards Besiktas if it would find some decisions to be too low.

This game has been dominating since final whistle of the game and is likely to carry on even more after PFDK announces its decisions from referrals send yesterday. Surely, one of the parties will be unhappy with decisions.

Kayserispor game cant be leave or stay game for Jan Olde Riekerink.

There carries on strong talks of Jan Olde Riekerink days to be numbered at the Turkish sports media which has been dominating for most part of this season due of some poor results even through team is still 5 points behind league leaders Besiktas.

Latest rumour at the media has reported that possibly loss against Kayserispor to be played on 12th February during Super League 20th week game could lead for his resignation. Galatasaray has did provide good performance this season and to some extend even better from last season if referring to the Super League but this been done managed by skills of Fernando Muslera and Wesley Sneijder. In game-wise, Galatasaray apart of 1st few weeks has never shown a football at the team of side and didnt win game with easiness at general. Taking account that Kayserispor are showing great performance with Sergen Yalcin in last few weeks and despite of being at relegation zone, it can achieve a good result against Galatasaray so to some extend future could lay at the hands of Fernando Muslera at the game.

To some extend, Jan Olde Riekerink is coming to once again to the game which could lead him to stay or leave from the club and hence he needs to make right tactics at the night.

Video-refereeing could be introduced to Turkey in near future.

The talks about video-refereeing has been once again opened at the Turkish football with comments that it should be introduced to the Super League getting stronger with recent poor performances of the referees.

Poor refereeing has been especially noticed during Turkish Cup last 16 games between  Basaksehirspor and Galatasaray and especially at scandalous Besiktas and Fenerbahce game. FIFA during this week has organised vide-refereeing workout at which it seems to be getting to accepting video-refereeing at near future and of course this decision would lead for Turkey to accept this system and it would be willing to do so. Even through video-refereeing might affect to the nature of the game, it could make less referee arguments at the Turkey about referees and have given more chance to enjoy football even through with few minutes stoppages due of viewing videos.

As been stated at blog few days ago at the blog, Club's Union and Basaksehirspor CEO Goksel Gumusdag is strong supporter of the video-refereeing and hence it doesnt look like TFF would be reluctant to accept this system.
