Besiktas has got 1 point following tactical game against Napoli.
Besiktas has provided much more tactical and careful game against Napoli during Champions League 4th week game, where it was giving much more attention for not losing the game compare to the last week game at the Italy.
Reason for Besiktas to play more secure was to give more importnace not to lose game as this scoreline could become more crucial compare to losing to Napoli especially taking account that it was missing high number of players due of injury including Caner Erkin and Talisca. Its defence and midfielder has shown better performance compare to attackers and didnt give too much dangerous chances to the Napoli during the game. It does need to be stated that Napoli also has provided much more careful game possibly due of playing in Istanbul and also losing at the previous game. Besiktas did in fact go into leadership with penalty goal by the Ricardo Quaresma goal at the 78th minute following patient and tactical performance but did concede from Marek Hamsik after 4 minutes who had scored high class goal which Fabri couldnt do much about. Besiktas did provide good football and did still get good result which gives them high chances to get to next stage.
Napoli has played also patient football due of losing last week game and also playing in Turkey and has provided high focus game with creating actually more chances compare to Besiktas. In similar manner, this is good result for Napoli as it would allow them to stay leaders at the group.
Besiktas has got an important point and with getting around 4 points against Dinamo Kiev and
Benfica in next two games could be enough to get to next stage. Team has also kept high motivation for Super League game against Trabzonspor at the 5th November.
Galatasaray player Yasin Oztekin has been taken from squad for undisciplinary behaviour.
One of the talking points of previous weekend has been behaviour of the Galatasaray player Yasin Oztekin when he was substituted and his angry and undisciplinary action during Super League 9th week game against Adanaspor.
From preventing this behaviour to become habit to the Yasin Oztekin and also of the whole team Galatasaray administration with approval of head coach Jan Olde Riekerink has decided to take him away from main squad and he would carry on his training sessions at the youth team. Duration of this punishment has not been announced but it is reported that he could be forgiven by a club prior to 11th week game against Fenerbahce which will take place on 20th November. The decision is certainly is correct one by the team as its been stated it would affect other team members. Stating that it does raise question if same actions would be taken if players like Wesley Sneijder, Muslera or Podolski do the same or just fine would been chosen instead.
Galatasaray would play without Yasin Oztekin in very crucial game against league leaders Basaksehirspor on 4th November but he is not being one of the best players at the squad so it might not affect to the team too negatively.
It would become how realistic for Basaksehirspor to fight for league title in next 3 weeks.
Following 9 weeks at the Super League this season we are having pretty unexpecting leaders Basaksehirspor and even through this team has always been seen at the top 5 in past years it always seem to be lacking quality for leadership. But this year its playing great compact football including 5:1 win against Akhisar Belediyespor on 30th October.
Basaksehirpor right now would be going for a tough period where it would meet against Galatasaray on 10th week and Besiktas at the 12th week, two opponents who right now are direct opponents to them. To show that this team can become champions at the end of the season it need to get points from this game and having away game record it can achieve that but of course it would play against teams who have good results at home, especially Besiktas. With 11th week derby game, next 3 weeks would be incredibly crucial at the Super League as it can identify how league would go on at least until mid-season break and results would be turning point as top 3 and also Fenerbahce would play against each other.
Basaksehirspor if obtains around 5 or 7 points at the upcoming 3 games and by achieving that could set its aim for league title even more serious and close and show what their capable of in upcoming weeks.
