What happened in Turkish football today? 16.11.2016
Away games ban between Besiktas and Bursaspor games has also been lifted.
Following lifting of the ban between big 3 Istanbul clubs regarding of visiting fans not being able to enter to the stadium due of security reasons, there was also decision to lift the ban between Besiktas and Bursaspor fans which was also ongoing problematic issue for the fans and administrators of the both clubs after around 1 month from the initial decision.
The decision has been made by the Besiktas, Bursaspor and Sports Security Committee in the meeting yesterday which also has discussed about security issues for this weekend game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. It needs to be reminded that prior of setting ban for visiting fans of Besiktas and Bursaspor, both clubs had a big fights at the streat and around stadiums which in first place has led for ban to be set between teams in first place. However, following lifting ban for key games at this season it was crucial for Sports Security Commitee to carry on this spirit, which by some has become possible to post feeling at the Turkish society during failed coup d'etat events on 15th July.
This is obviously is being good news for both sides as there was talks about needs to lift this ban between two clubs for long time now and as was the case during Besiktas and Galatasaray games its all set to fans of the both sides. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray game on 20th November also plays an important place for this decision not to be taken away and once put a ban for away fans.
Antalyaspor suggest 1 week extension of midseason break.
Antalyaspor CEO Ali Safak Ozturk has send request to the Turkish Football Federation stating that this midseason break should be extended to 3 weeks rather than original 2 weeks stating that longer break would allow to do better transfer and play more friendly games.
Ozturk has stated that many clubs, domestic and international are spending their midseason training camps at the Antalya which allows chances to play lots of friendly games with big clubs especially from Russia as their break takes longer period. He argues that this possibility is not taken at full due of shorterer break and its hard to agree for friendlies or even worser some suggested friendlies needs to be declined due of limited time. He adds that longer break would also allow to make better transfer deals as focus would be at looking for searching longer period for key players and focussing into negotiations for those transfers. Ali Safak Ozturk has also suggested for Turkish Cup games to take place in Antalya as many clubs are based in the city during midseason break.
There was lots of talks recently that due of Turkish Cup the winter break is not taking as effective and affects club to get prepared in more better condition and this suggestion even through would be declined, could get some strong support from other clubs.
Muharrem Usta aims to provide long-term aims with its staff.
Trabzonspor CEO Muharrem Usta is suggesting to extend contract with team head Ersun Yanal for
10 years and make him as part of the long term project at the team.
Usta made following statement stating that time when players and head coaches would be changed frequently and rather than getting rid of unwanted coaches and players with a merit of unsuccess it would focus into longer term with building stronger and stable team which would be very successful.
This clearly shows that this long-term would not be merit of success in longer term or at least signs of improvement, and clearly it doesnt meant it expected to be allowed for everyone at the team as poor results would still mean end of contract both for player and coach. This thought follows to some extend British model especially like Arsenal and Manchester United during Sir Alex Ferguson where it focuses into long-term aims supported by long-term success.
This is unusual system if becomes reality in Turkey by Trabzonspor, logically it can be successfull but its questionable how media and fans would react if things will not go well for them.Trabzonspor are not same as Arsenal fans.
