What happened in Turkish football today? 13.11.2016
Turkey regained confidence after Kosovo win even through it didnt play it best football.
Turkish National Team has won an important game against Kosovo as the team was going through very tough period at the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers as it started first 3 weeks games with 2 draws and created difficult chance for it to get to Russia in 2-years time, however 2:0 scoreline yesterday has provided big motivation and once again allowed players to focus into set task.
Among poor performance start at the qualification campaign, there were also many internal issues at the team including as it became clear from yesterday press conference following the game that Turkish head coach Fatih Terim relationships with players like Arda Turan, Burak Yilmaz and others is still carries on since Euro 2016. It needs to be stated meanwhile that Turkey didnt play its best football against Kosovo and surely this performance will not be enough against its direct opponents at the group which are Croatia, Iceland and Ukraine. In contrast, Croatia have won Kosovo with 6:0 scoreline while Ukraine with 3:0 scoreline. Stating that Turkey did play an economical football which could also affect to the performance of the game. Burak Yilmaz who have returned did provide good performance even through he didnt recieve much ball but when he did he showed his class.
At the World Cup qualifiying campaign for next 8 months Turkey will play with Finland on March and in June once again against Kosovo. Those two being easiest teams at the group would allow Turkey to improve its situation at the group and regain confidence.
Premier League clubs are interested to transfer Bruma.
As been visible at our blog and accounts, the rumours about transfers started slowing coming out as there is still little less than 2 months until start of the midseason transfer window. Among the news are rumours that Premier League clubs are interested to transfer Galatasaray player Bruma.
The rumour has come from Bruma manager who have stated to the Portuguese media that Tottenham Hotspur are among English teams who are interested to transfer him. It needs to be stated that Bruma so far at the league has been showing top football so it is normal for number of so many clubs to be directly interested with him but it is known that Galatasaray does consider to extend contract with him in this winter which could easily end all this transfer talks at the club. Stating that its very likely that number of those English clubs will try their best to make transfer deal with Bruma, but it is now known that Bruma is happy at the Galatasaray.
Still it would be smart move for Galatasaray to extend his contract before midseason or make at least principal deal because Bruma might have 2nd thought when deals would start coming from England.
Valencia and German National Team are interested with Tolgay Arslan.
Talks about transfer of Besiktas player Tolgay Arslan, carry on coming from Turkish sports media, as only two days ago this blog has stated that he could become among most talked players during mid-season transfer window.
Among the list which are interested to transfer him has been joined Valencia which are reported to put him even as priority for this winter as it looks for strong midfielder at the team. But even more crucial in today media news about Arslan is that German National Team might consider to bring him at the squad and convince him to join. It was reported that team was looking fine for him to choose Turkish National Team, but right now their are seriously considering to use him as an alternative for Toni Kroos. This two rumours would also take interesting twists with transfer window slowly approaching as Tolgay Arslan has stated publicly that he will like to stay in Besiktas and play for Turkey.
It does look that number of teams and German head coach Joachim Low will need to do a lot to convince Tolgay Arslan in upcoming months.
