What happened in Turkish football today? 14.11.2016

Fatih Terim didnt forgive players who did wrong in Euro despite of calling them

Turkish National Team head coach Fatih Terim following 2:0 win against Kosovo during World Cup 2018 qualifiers has stated at the press conference that the fact that some of key players such as Arda Turan and Burak Yilmaz has been called back to team doesnt mean he has forgiven them.

The following announcement shows that he is still unhappy with number of players at the squad, namely Arda Turan and Burak Yilmaz, during their behaviour behind the scenes of the Euro2016 in France. He states that their were called because national team needed them rather than he provided forgiveness to them. This statement however raises questions why their were not called before, when Turkey has played with its direct opponents like Ukraine, Croatia and Iceland. Surely those star players didnt need much help against weakest team at the group. Terim once again again reminded to everyone, or at least to the media outlets, that those players need to send apologies to the Turkish public for what their did in Euros, but it is still unclear what he means by that.

Call for those key players is an important factor for national team but there is still questions if relationships between Terim and those players is solved and this factor could create issues in the future.

Antalyaspor feels uneasy about Trabzonspor criticism of referees.

Antalyaspor CEO Ali Safak Ozturk prior to the game against Trabzonspor which will take place on 21st November during Super League 11th week game did state all this talks about Trabzonspor of referees makes them feel uneasy.

He is quite right as this surely would provide some pressure to the referees even if that is not intention of Trabzonspor CEO Muharrem Usta and his administrative team. Antalyaspor. as other clubs has been affected by questionable decisions by the referees, and it might get lots of damages if referees will feel under pressure during the game. The best thing which referees can do for sure is to stay neutral and use whistle in places where their see foul or offside or otherwise football will carry on get damaged by their decisions. Their need to be extra careful as in upcoming weeks lots of pressure would be given to them as we getting closer to midway of the season. Antalyaspor has all reasons to feel worried as Trabzonspor provides pressure to referees.

Its just important that whoever referees this game will provide extra attention and this is certainly true for each games left at this pretty interesting season.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are interested to transfer Memphis Depay.

The rumours about Manchester United player Memphis Depay joining Galatasaray and especially Fenerbahce in this midseason transfer window is still taking place actively, with reports that Everton is also interested with a player.

Right now we are at the period when this rumours goes around the media and there is no clear statements made by the public. So far, Depay himself didnt make any announcements about this rumours and focusses into success of Manchester United. But it is known that he doesnt recieve much playing time at English giants and hence it does look almost certain that he would team at midseason transfer window but it is hard to call where. Everton despite of showing big interest, there is talks that United is not interested to give him to English club for fear of him performing well. This puts both Turkish clubs at favourable position but clubs who would like Depay  might raise in upcoming days and weeks.

Memphis Depay would strength both Istanbul clubs due of being quality players which by itself provides hard chance for him coming to Turkey, but it can happen.
