What happened in Turkish football today? 10/01/2023

Fenerbahce got an impressive dominant result against Konyaspor

Fenerbahce has shown dominant game from start to an end against Konyaspor as it has won game with 7:1 scoreline with Edin Dzeko scoring first 3 goals within 40 minutes and making hattrick in same period of time.

Fenerbahce has continued its perfect and dominant start of the game and has shown strong and organised game during whole game and has been looking for goals in 90 minutes which hence has led for such confident win of 7:1 with raising its total amount of goals in season to be 56 goals after 19 games. It needs to be mentioned that Edin Dzeko start of the game as he did take leading role in the attack has once again reminded that he is being main player of the team and would give all his best. After even ending 1st half with 5:0 scoreline meanwhile it needs to be stated that team has continued showing an attacking game with finding 2 more in 2nd half and even through quite understanable it reduced tempo, it continued to side which dominated game. Hence, Fenerbahce with showing positive and hungry for goals performance has led for result and game which everyone at team has been seeking for.

Konyaspor meanwhile has provided very poor performance against Fenerbahce as it didnt show any signs of being at the game and has dropped significantly when comparing how it performed against Galatasaray few days ago and does provide worrying signs.

Fenerbahce has managed to get impressive win with 7:1 scoreline with big role of Edin Dzeko and without doubt has got an important confidence and motivation boost for upcoming games.

Besiktas players provided positive view for new head coach.

Besiktas has got an impressive win against in-form Rizespor with 4:0 scoreline at away game at the day when club has officially signed as Fernando Santos as head coach.

Besiktas did come out to the game knowing that it would need to impress new coach and this possibly has even more motivated for win than importance of winning this game for 3rd spot as it looked to be more effective and attacking compare to previous game even through it didnt entirely showed perfect game allowing Rizespor to create some chances which it didnt convert it. To some extend this win did come from unexpected mistakes from Rizespor but one thing is certain this win would provide motivational boost for team.

This also has been last game for Sercan Topraktepe as caretaker coach but he would be among technical staff at Fernando Santos team.

Galatasaray will meet Sivasspor at cold winterly conditions.

Galatasaray would carry on its title race with Fenerbahce at one of the most difficult outside of Istanbul games and especially for it to be taken place at the middle of winter as it would be meeting with Sivasspor.

Sivasspor as it is known is being among one of the coldest cities in Turkey and there would be possibility even for snow to be taking place and hence Sivasspor would be able to play at much better conditions which they are used to play more. Galatasaray as it is known are missing some key players either due of injuries or African Cup of Nations and with those absences it didnt as overall show great game despite winning 3:0 against Konyaspor. It is expected for Abdulkerim Bardakci who scored 2 goals against Konyaspor to take again leading role and be active at attack. Sivasspor are going for uncertain periods looking at field and could be seeing this game as motivational boost if it gets good result.

Galatasaray are coming out as favourites but weather conditions and absences could keep door open for unexpected result against Sivasspor.
