What happened in Turkish football today? 26/04/2022

Valerien Ismael did get reality check of Turkish football.

Besiktas head coach Valerien Ismael has got his first loss in his new team as side did lose to Kasimpasa with 3:0 scoreline and is currently being 6 points behind of 4th spot with 12 points available until end of the season.

Besiktas has provided not only one of its worst games with Valerien Ismael but also among whole season as it couldnt provide response to Kasimpasa tempo as opponents did provide strong and smart game and did find nice and tactically smart goals. It did look to some extend that Besiktas has not been fully focussed into game or did lack motivation. Also this might lead for Valerien Ismael to go through his tactical game as side did only win one game during this season and had shown decline of performance. With probability for European football is getting lower, even through there is hope for 5th spot if Trabzonspor wins Turkish Cup, it might be smart to give some time to younger players.

Besiktas are being among side who has been in decline as we enter to last weeks of the season and could have risk of losing concentration.

Burak Elmas aims to clean his name.

Galatasaray CEO Burak Elmas among 9 administrators, has went into court to cancel decision of general meeting not to support his reign as CEO prior to an early CEO election on 30th April.

It is been announced by club that this decision would not negatively affect to CEO election process and would be taking place and sole aim is to get its right to question decision. Galatasaray has went through into more activity in recent weeks more from outside of field issues and it does look to be continuing in upcoming period and even after CEO election. But good news is that both CEO candidates could provide its focus to the election period and make sure they come to election in good condition.

Therefore, Burak Elmas decision would be focussed to clean his name and will not impact to CEO election at all.

Altay has called not to register this season.

Altay, which does have possibility to be relegated following this weekend games, has announced that it is expecting for this season not to be registered due of some events which happened, namely referee scandals which includes taking away 13 referees and after being ruled out.

It needs to be mentioend that TFF and general Turkish football has went through much more activity during this season compare to Super League season and had high number of resignation with CEO Nihat Ozdemir has been biggest one but also included twice changing of Central Referee Committee, with Ferhat Gundogdu taking especially big focus as his decision not to accept 13 referees has been ruled out from arbitration committee. In other hand, Altay being almost relegated to make such statement had some impact regardless how much club declines that and states its been done for greater good and justice of Turkish football.

With it knowing that question of registration is being on going, Altay has been one of the few to make statement about matter to open and it would be interesting to see if other clubs would follow suit.
