What happened in Turkish football today? 25/04/2022

Valerien Ismael got 1st loss at Besiktas.

Besiktas head coach Valerien Ismael has lost its 1st game with his new club with 3:0 scoreline against Kasimpasa as they opponents continued showing strong performance which it does in recent weeks.

With Besiktas going through transtion period and Ismael bringing new system which does have issues with tactical game of the opponent, it was expected to have some issues and this time its did come from Kasimpasa. Even through it needs to be mentioned that Kasimpasa did provide strong and confident performance, it still needs to be admitted that Besiktas did have decline of its performance with noone in the field getting upper hand of the game and didnt provide much issue to opponent goal. It is true that Besiktas did create some very good opportunities as game been developing and did create some strong opportunities but it continued an issue with converting goals as it didnt score. What is more problematic in this game has been poor defence which for sure been noticed with Valerien Ismael.

As been noted, Kasimpasa continued showing strong and positive game with being always inside the game and did find with 3 goals which been well-worked and quality goals especially with Muleka taking upper hand of the side.

Besiktas with this loss is getting 6 points away from relegation zone and with 12 points only being available in this season, it did put its aim for Conference League into big difficulty.

Galatasaray is out of concentration as it comes to formality games.

Galatasaray has managed to get 1:0 win against struggling Altay with 1:0 scoreline thanks to Kerem Akturkoglu but it needs to be stated that side did provide poor performance especially during 2nd half.

With Galatasaray coming out to formalities games and waiting when upcoming 4 games would be over, it would be natural to expect for Galatasaray with having lack of concentration towards to game and to some extend similar could be stated for Altay as its chances to stay in the league are being vague even through there would be expectation for side to show some fighting spirit. In fact, it needs to be mentioned that Altay did show such kind of performance on 2nd half with creating opportunities but did have lack of converting goals. Altay on their part could be relegated in upcoming weeks very likely as it has 10 points from Giresunspor with 4 games left until end of the season.

Galatasaray did manage to get win but it is out of concentration for sure due of staying without aims.

Torrent needs to convince Metin Ozturk to stay at club for next season.

Galatasaray CEO candidate Metin Ozturk did state that he would work with current head coach Domenec Torrent next season if he manages to convince him that he can improve side for next season.

There has been lots of criticism towards Domenec Torrent due of poor results but it needs to be noted that statistically there is not much differences with performance he did with Fatih Terim earlier this season. Therefore, even through he didnt improve side which is being downside for him, he didnt have things worser either so maybe upcoming administrative needs to be aware that this maximum level which this squad can produce and its nothing to do with Torrent or any other coach. Torrent on his part now needs to identify issues which are present in the team and provide solution to newly-elected CEO which would become clear on 30th April and provide future plans if he wants to stay in the club.

Galatasaray upcoming CEO needs to understand what Torrent can do for upcoming season and then decide his future in the club.
