Besiktas has got an important win against Galatasaray with help of Adem Ljajic penalty goal.
Besiktas has managed to beat its rivals Galatasaray with 1:0 scoreline thanks to the goal scored by Adem Ljajic during penalty kick as the game has been played with high tempo as both sides has wanted to win game.
Besiktas as was stated prior to the game mentally, even through it needed to show high level performance during game with an organised game during whole game. Even through goal has come from penalty and not during game, it did provide pretty attacking game with Besiktas always looking chance but has been focussed also towards good defence as game has progressed. It was also visible for Besiktas players to be highly focussed to the game and despite of only having 2 days to get into preparation and with this at perspective it has shown pretty good performance today. By the way, it needs to be noted that VAR position of the penalty kick could lead to some questions from Galatasaray but it needs to be stated that it was right decision as Galatasaray player did have touched with hand during free kick and prevented to the ball going through the wall. It could be argued that Besiktas didnt provide great performance but it did show right attitute during game.
In other hand, Galatasaray even through did provide some fighting spirit during game but this performance in overall will not be enough for winning main rivals. It could be noticed also that factor of not having an attacking player at the squad has created its issues once again as even through side did create high number of the chances during game their wasnt player who could provide last touch and also assist of the final touch. Coming to the penalty position, it could be stated that if Eren Derdiyok didnt play handball before falling down than this position would be given penalty kick as he was prevented to go at the front. Galatasaray needs to figure out what it did wrong and why didnt provide performance at the level which would bring them win at such important game and how to find perfect game with its squad which it can provide in this period.
Besiktas did get an important win and when comparing both sides, Istanbul side did deserve to get a win against Galatasaray but still the team didnt get to its highest level and it still need to identify some downsides which it has s hown during this game and also bad start against Sarpsborg 08.
Trabzonspor has got an important win against Kayserispor.
Trabzonspor has got an important win against Kayserispor during last 10 minutes of the game as it was important for side to get back-to-back wins and also keep its chances to fight for top positions during this seasons.
Even through as been mentioned at yesterday blog, Trabzonspor actually did show good performance even before finding goal at 83rd minutes with Caleb Ecubar, but it could be argued it did lose its speed and dominance which it did show during Fenerbahce game. Kayserispor didnt provide much attacking game and didnt provide much threat for Trabzonspor defence, but it did show some organising defensive game which was among main reasons for winning goal to come. Meanwhile, goal from Caleb Ecubar was very meaningful for him for certain as he has lost his mother several days and it was important for him to get great performance today in memory of her. Trabzonspor did show in overall great focus towards game which has led for such an important win for a side and it would be aiming to carry on similar performance in upcoming weeks at this season for sure and aim to end last 3 weeks until mid-season break at highest point.
Trabzonspor did get an important motivation with also getting 8 points behind Basaksehirspor and still finding itself at title race in December, factor which it was lacking in recent seasons.
Kasimpasa does come out as favourite against Fenerbahce.
After securing Europa League knockout stage, Fenerbahce would be returning to Super League as it would be meeting with one of the most formed side of this season Kasimpasa currently located at 2nd place.
With Fenerbahce showing very bad performance at the league and also good performance from Kasimpasa with Mustafa Denizli being their coach, it would be naturally and sadly to see Kasimpasa to come out of the game as favourite team. But as always with big teams, their is always strong potential for side with help of its supporters to provide an extra effort and possibly this game at home as crucial turning point for future of the league. But when its coming gamewise, taking account that Fenerbahce didnt show great performance against Dinamo Zagreb despite of getting desired result, does provide that physically team is not ready. Fenerbahce does have potential to get result but their need to provide an extra effort with some tactical changes at the team, with possibly leading Mathieu Valbuena into leading role during Kasimpasa game.
Fenerbahce would have an important game against Kasimpasa and also difficult one as their opponent would aim to win game to find themselves still at race for top position.
