What happened in Turkish football today? 08/11/2017

Turkish National Team would play with Romania which are also have lack of motivation after qualifiers.

Turkish National Team would start its post-World Cup 2018 qualifying dissapointing period with an international friendly game against Romania, which has experienced pretty dissapointing qualifying campaign themselves.

With both teams showing success at qualifying to the Euro 2016 in France, were aiming without doubt to be among nations which would be at World Cup 2018 in Russia or at least get play-off spot, however right now both teams would be aiming to become stronger sides for Euro 2020 qualifiers. It needs to be stated, and Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu has stated himself that both teams are in similar position and to some extend as countries are uncapable to provide high level performance which is expected from both of them. Turkish National Team does use this as chance to allow youngsters to get some playing time as been seen from the squad and get an experience and also show themselves both to Turkish public and head coach into their capabilities as future and possibly potential squad at Euro 2020, if Turkey qualifiers, would be them. Therefore, its game for chance for names which dont usually get selected to show themselves.

With World Cup qualifiers still being fresh at the memory of both sides teams the game would be expected to be affected by this situation at both sides.

Focus should be given into developing of youth academy among Turkish clubs.

Meanwhile, Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu statement about reduction of the foreign players limit has been taken into strong reaction from high number of coaches and administrators from Super League teams.

Even through all of the bodies do agree as expected that limit should be changed or modified, their state that this is impossible right now as this rule is still present for upcoming 2 years and transfer works has been done for that with existing contracts. However, there is strong agreement that more works need to be done to youth academies, with Club's Union and TFF meeting next week to discuss about possible more investment to work on this area even through TFF rightfully states that the main responsibility for youth academy are with clubs. Mircea Lucescu is widely believed to make strong announcements and change talking points into areas which can be changed and get attention to himself. In the time, when smart decisions needs to be done this actually does damage to Turkish football.

It does look that foreign players limit would be discussed naturally when its period would get to the end but right now main focus is into developing youth academy in Turkey.

Istanbul clubs interested to transfer Maroane Fellaini.

With firstly rumours coming out that Besiktas are interested to transfer Manchester United player Maroaune Fellaini during mid-season transfer window since his brother and manager arrived to Istanbul last week, there is also rumours that other big Istanbul clubs also have interest to him.
It needs to be stated that this talks of Fellaini coming to the Turkey in January are just rumours and none of the clubs states that there is such negotiations, with Besiktas declining until now for this talks to take place. Even through Fellaini doesnt play as much as he wants at Manchester United and chances of him leaving team in winter are not slim the chances of him joining Turkish club, with his calibre and age does look to be slim but in same time can happen. But if Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas would be able to convince him it would be not an easy task and will take long negotiations. Stating that its not even sure if Fellaini would leave team in first place or not.

This story could be among talking points during January transfer window but the chances as been stated are slim but not impossible in same time.
