What happened in Turkish football today? 06/11/2017

Besiktas has got an important win with tactical play.

Besiktas has managed to win Goztepe during Super League 11th week game with 3:1 scoreline with tactical game without raising their usual tempo as it had an important game in midweek against Monaco at Champions League.

Even through it is hard to show high level performance both in Europe and domestic league, Besiktas did set an eye for league title this season and hence it needed to win this game to keep their chances high. Their had shown smart and tactically good game against one of the most difficult away games as Goztepe fans does push forward their opponents and in fact Goztepe did start game well and could created more chances to Istanbul giants if Talisca didnt find goal at 7th minute. Besiktas has come out to win game rather show positive attacking football which as been mentioned would be understandable. Goztepe meanwhile did miss Adis Jahovic as there was lack of last touches which could bring game into different character with push also from supporters. However, without doubt Besiktas would be happy with result of the game. Talisca and Ryan Babel especially showed good performance.

Besiktas would be going to the national team break at great position at the Champions League and still being inside title race and hence would have go this period without much stress.

Aykut Kocaman has changed his mind about resignation

As it looked like for sure that Fenerbahce head coach Aykut Kocaman statement that he would do needful actions as the sign of resignation, however this has turned into uncertainty as their is still no official statement by both parties even through their are talks that Kocaman has changed his mind.

Their are rumours that Fenerbahce administrators majority are against for change of the coach in this period and at earliest if he does resign at the mid-season as it would be easier to find newer coach and some believe that he would need to give time to work with this team. There are also coming out talks that this talk was without undoubt self-criticism but it wasnt actually resignation talk and was made due of poor results recently. It is reported that Fenerbahce administrative board would have talk one-on-one with Aykut Kocaman about his future where he would provide his resignation if it is case. To some extend, this could be also best period until January for him to resign as team would have 2 weeks to find new coach for Super League next game after national team break. But again it is uncertain how would Fenerbahce administration react.

Fenerbahce does seem to be in big crises right now and situation is not related to Aykut Kocaman and some administrative changes and revision needs to be done at the team.

Osmanlispor player Ozer Hurmaci has recieved 6-month ban for way he ended contract with Trabzonspor.

One of the most talked topics of last weekend apart of Super League 11th week games has been about Osmanlispor player Ozer Hurmaci recieving 6-game ban for ending contract with Trabzonspor unethically and also requesting compensation from team.

This has been without doubt one of the harshest punishment which player which has recieved at top division in Turkey since match-fixing scandal, and as it became clear later it would go into affect after mid-season break which is main reason why he did play last minutes against Fenerbahce on 4th November. Osmanlispor and Ozer Hurmaci has also chance to send complaint of this issue. However, it does look Trabzonspor has managed to end as winner at this case which to some extend their were expected to win due of actions done by Ozer Hurmaci unrightfully. If arbitation will not change this decision than he would end season next month and Osmanlispor would lose an important player at the season which until now are showing pretty poor performance and are in risk to be eliminated.

This case should be a good example for future players who could decide to leave their clubs in such manners and should be careful with those decisions or more clearly how their are made.
