What happened in Turkish football today? 20/11/2017

Fenerbahce has regained its motivation following Sivasspor 4:1 win.

Fenerbahce has got a very important motivational boost following 4:1 win against Sivasspor during Super League 12th week game where Roberto Soldado has provided hat-trick within 20 minutes and played most important role for a win.

Without doubt, Fenerbahce needed to get this win for upcoming games and aim to end at high note at least its 1st half of the season and its just did that. In addition, to this important win it was also lucky that teams which it as at title race contenters have lost points apart of Basaksehirspor and Kayserispor who are above them. It became clear from such high level performance from Fenerbahce players from start of the game that it has regained high number of motivational boost at the national team break and has returned to the league in right motivation and set of mind which was clear. Apart of providing one of its fast hat-tricks during this season, Roberto Soldado has also found his 1st goal in 20 seconds after being introduced to the field following substitution. Therefore, this performance by Roberto Soldado would affect positvely to him and whole team in upcoming games especially during Antalyaspor game.

With this win Fenerbahce are now 6 points behind league leaders and are involved directly at the title race even through their task is without doubt is still difficult and hence it needs to carry on this performance until mid-season break.

The kind of win by Trabzonspor against Osmanlispor will certainly push self-confidence top at the team.

Trabzonspor has shown a very impressive comeback against Osmanlispor during Super League 12th week game as it was losing 2:0 and later 3:1 at the game but with concentration and focus has improved game during 2nd half and has brought an important win to the team.

This kind of wins, regardless how you performed in overall during game, does provide an incredible boost for upcoming games as this character and fact of showing great comeback pushes its motivation into very high position and hence helps team to go forward. Without doubt Trabzonspor player Burak Yilmaz performance has also played an important role with this win as he found 1 goal at the end of 1st half and also at the right of the end of the game as he brought winner from penalty kick. Despite of all this praises, it needs to be stated that Trabzonspor does have some issues at the defence and also lack of self-belief which was visible at the game but it needs to realise that it is 10 points behind league leaders and motivate itself for upcoming games. Trabzonspor would play against Sivasspor at the next weekend and it is important for head coach Riza Calimbay to keep this high motivation pleasant at the team.

As been mentioned this kind of comebacks, with especially finding winning goal at the last minute of the games, does push team forwards in self-confidence and time would show how much this would be affected in upcoming games.

Besiktas needs to play for a win even if draw is enough.

Besiktas would come out to one of the most important games during Champions League 5th week game against Porto where 1 point would be enough for them to get knockout stages of the tournament but it needs to aim for a win.

Since Porto needs to win game to keep its chances to get into the knockout stage it would play only for a win and hence playing mentally for a draw by Besiktas could lead them to losing points as this kind of tactics as history brings does some worry to team. It needs to be reminded that with a factor that it only needs to 1 point does put pressure less to them compare to Porto and hence mentally it would be coming out with less stress and this factor it needs to use to its advantage and aim to provide similar performance as it did during 3:1 win against Portuguese team. If it would lose, it would come out to much stressful condition to game against Leipzig at the last game and this factor it is certainly would not like to get. Besiktas has also good chance as it would be playing at home where it didnt lose yet and it would be aiming to achieve that tomorrow against Porto and celebrate knockout stage ticket with its fans.

Therefore, the key is not to aim for draw even if its enough as Porto would certainly play for a win and hence Besiktas could risk of getting loss due of different set of mind between teams.
