What happened in Turkish football today? 16/11/2017
Besiktas will aim to get 3 wins back to back at the league but Akhisarspor would give some difficult time to them.
Following international duty, Super League is going to return with Super League 12th week game between Besiktas and Akhisarspor which is promising to be very exciting game and tough one for Besiktas as Akhisarspor are among teams who are in form during this season.
Even through Besiktas could been argued that the game has been played too early in the week following national team break and would rather to play on 18th November, it needs to be noted that it does have Champions League crucial game against Porto on 21st November which led for TFF to set date as such. Besiktas which did have a negative period during this season would be certainly aiming to get its 3rd win during this season as it did have bad period for 4 weeks where it didnt win game and certainly set an eye for race for the leadership once again as it is current 5 point behind league leaders Galatasaray. But as been stated Akhisarspor did provide pretty good performance during this season and are having a memorable season with young coach Okan Buruk and without doubt are aiming to provide tough game to their opponents.
Therefore, it would not be an easy game for Besiktas especially mentally prior as it would be looking for game against Porto on 21st November where 1 point is enough to get to the next stage. Hence, Akhisarspor could also use this pressure of Besiktas to its advantage at the game tomorrow.
FIFA would pay salary of Robin van Persie due of recieved injury recieved at national duty.
It became clear that FIFA did make an agreement to pay salary of Fenerbahce player Robin van Persie from 28th September as his injury has been come from his international duty rather than at the club, due of new rule which has been set from organisation themselves in this season.
According to deal, FIFA would pay his salary up to the moment until he would recover and will resume training sessions at the team. This is being good news for Fenerbahce as it would be able do not worry about paying high salary for the player who is not able to play for very long time due of injury he has recieved at Dutch national team, taking account that he is unwanted man would satisfy even more to them. It also needs to be reminded that Fenerbahce plans to sell Robin van Persie as soon as in mid-season transfer window. As it is also known Robin van Persie mainly due of recurring age does get sadly for him and club frequently injured which means that team is uncapable to get help from him a lot at the field.
As been stated this decision by UEFA has reduced lots of financial pressure it has from this injury and would be able to save lots of money as he is among most paid jobs at the squad.
Galatasaray had meeting about next season shirts and not about Arda Turan with NEF administration.
Galatasaray CEO Dursun Ozbek has stated that team didnt meet with NEF administrator Erdem Timur to discuss about recieving some share of cash, as their priority sponsor, to transfer Barcelona player Arda Turan during mid-season transfer window.
Dursun Ozbek has declined that news which has stated at Turkish sports media that he has met with Timur for 2.5 hour meeting to discuss about finance of Arda Turan transfer and has made into agreement. Ozbek has stated that Arda Turan didnt been mentioned at all during meeting and was rather discussed for coming into agreement about shirt deal for next season as their deal ends this season and wanted to discuss about issues and changes of agreement as it is important to work about shirts for next season. Dursun Ozbek has underlined that meeting went pretty well.
This statement does show that Galatasaray doesnt show as much interest towards Arda Turan as it did at least from statements coming from club but again we would see what would happen in January.
